Glacier National Park had to close sections of the park temporarily after experiencing snowfall.
Glacier National Park, located in Montana, had to close parts of its “Going to the Sun Road” after snowfall occurred near Avalanche Creek and Jackson Glacier Overlook.
The park reported the Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail from Logan Pass to Granite Park were closed due to hazardous conditions such as snow and slush.
The sections of the park have since been reopened.

Per Montana Right Now:
The Going to the Sun Road is now fully open.
The road closed at approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday, between Avalanche Creek and Jackson Glacier Overlook.
Due to hazardous conditions caused by snow, slush, and ice, the Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail from Logan Pass to Granite Park Chalet are closed.
The closures will remain in place until conditions improve. The park will continually evaluate trail conditions to see when the closures can be lifted. Check the park website for updated trail status information.
Visitors are encouraged to prepare for inclement weather if they plan to travel to the park this week. Check the weather forecast and park road status before you visit, dress for varying degrees of weather, carry the ten essentials, and be on alert for potential hazards on roadways and trails.
I saw on the news they closed a couple of road in Glacier National Park in Montana.
Up to 3-6 inches of snow.
We don't close roads if there is 3-6 feet of snow.
No chains and people get turned back until mandatory snow tires are required up here.

A section of the iconic road between Avalanche Creek and Jackson Glacier Outlook was closed on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, due to snow and icy conditions.
