Vice President Kamala Harris will appear Tuesday alongside her newly selected running mate at a Philadelphia rally before the duo hits the road for a campaign blitz.
“This swing will allow the Vice President and her running mate to speak directly with voters in their communities and cement the contrast between our ticket and Trump’s,” the Harris campaign said.
The Tuesday night event in Philadelphia will be the first with Ms. Harris and her second-in-command. They will then embark to seven other states, including Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.
They will visit big arena rallies, college campuses and smaller settings such as union halls and restaurants, according to the campaign.
The list of potential running mates has narrowed. The names that are still being floated include Govs. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Tim Walz of Minnesota and Andy Beshear of Kentucky; Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona; and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Ms. Harris secured the Democratic nomination on Friday during a virtual vote among thousands of delegates. The vote came just weeks before the Democratic National Convention, which starts Aug. 19.
