Hunter Biden has been convicted of multiple federal offences including firearms charges. He just recently pled guilty to tax-related charges.  And of course there’s the infamous laptop, the cocaine in the White House (which I think Hunter may have actually taken the fall for…), and a ton of other legal problems – not the least of which is his part in the Biden family’s overseas dealings in China and elsewhere.

Today, President Trump was asked on two separate occasions if he would be open to pardoning Hunter Biden.  Here’s what he said the first time he was asked by Hugh Hewitt.

Contrary to the fear-mongering left who wants to paint Trump in the darkest of tones, prepared to come after Americans who simply disagree with him, even saying he is planning on using the military to do exactly that — does that sound at all like the tone President Trump is taking?  And remember, this is someone who actually colluded to do him harm along with the rest of the Biden family and a slew of democrats (and a few republicans as well!).

According to a story in Newsweek, Joe Biden explicitly said earlier this year that HE would not pardon his son.  How wild would it be (though I suspect he’ll go back on that…), if his own father doesn’t, but President Trump does?  I could see that happening.

“I wouldn’t take it off the books,” Trump told the conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview. “See, unlike Joe Biden, despite what they’ve done to me, where they’ve gone after me so viciously … And Hunter’s a bad boy.”

“There’s no question about it. He’s been a bad boy,” Trump added. “But I happen to think it’s very bad for our country.”

Hunter Biden was convicted in June of three federal gun-related charges. He also pleaded guilty last month to a number of tax offenses. His sentencing hearings in both cases are scheduled for December.

President Joe Biden said earlier this year that he would not pardon his son.

“I am not going to do anything,” Biden said in June, shortly after a jury found Hunter Biden guilty of three felony gun charges. “I will abide by the jury’s decision.”

Did you notice the primary focus that President Trump brought out of the entire issue?  More than anything else, he is concerned about the welfare of the country.  So much for the power hungry authoritarian narrative.  Bill Melugin was also able to ask President Trump about whether he would pardon Hunter Biden if elected, just after a giant rally.

I don’t think people realize, just as Trump said, how hesitant he has been to go after his enemies legally.  He would arguably be justified in doing so, and we may yet see more of that — in cases where the injustice is egregious.  But the fact is, President Trump doesn’t seem to want retribution nearly as much as he wants whatever is best for the country; even to the point of allowing his sworn enemies off the hook.  I’m not sure he’ll be quite as lenient the next time around, but he’s obviously not a raving revenge-mad lunatic that he’s painted to be, either.

According to a story that ran today in The Hill, even while Jack Smith is pushing forward a case that is likely coordinated with the Biden White House against him, still President Trump is considering a pardon for Biden’s son as something that might be best.

Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, was found guilty in June of lying about his use of illicit drugs when applying to purchase a gun six years ago and unlawfully possessing it thereafter, marking the first criminal conviction of a sitting president’s child.

A federal judge agreed to push back Hunter Biden’s sentencing to Dec. 4.

Hunter Biden in September pleaded guilty to all nine federal tax charges he faced, staving off his second criminal trial this year, just before it was set to begin.

President Biden has repeatedly said he would not pardon his son before leaving office.

Trump has been found guilty on 34 felony counts on state charges in New York. He is still facing federal charges in Washington, D.C.

Special counsel Jack Smith has pushed forward with the case despite a Supreme Court ruling that presidents are immune from prosecution over official acts, arguing Trump’s efforts to thwart the transfer of power were the unlawful actions of a private citizen, not of a president.

How I wish the mainstream media would report the facts.  How I pray that people could hear the common sense and reasonable approach of President Trump, contrasted with the patently false narrative of a power-hungry maniacal tyrant who desires nothing but his own gain.

I don’t know if President Trump would even have opportunity to pardon Hunter Biden — Joe Biden might go back on his word and do it first, while he’s still in office.  Or… President Trump might decide that the legal process has run its course, and let it be.

Either way, just the mere fact that he so easily leans towards the possibility of pardoning Hunter Biden directly contrasts with the knee-jerk ferocity of “the other side”.  That’s called strength.  And what they are showing is called weakness incited by fear; fear of losing their grip on power — the very thing they want you to believe President Trump is all about.  How ironic.  And how tragic.
