Former director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Robert Redfield stunned Robert Kennedy, Jr. on Tuesday, when he praised him in an op-ed despite being heavily criticized in Kennedy’s best selling book, The Real Anthony Fauci. 

Redfield endorsed Donald Trump in an opinion piece in Newsweek, saying he believes the former president made the right choice when he recruited  Kennedy to address the growing chronic disease crisis in America.

Redfield wrote:

According to National Survey of Children’s Health, more than 40 percent of school-aged children and adolescents have at least one chronic health condition. Parents reported around 41 percent of children under 18 had “current or lifelong health conditions” when asked about 25 health conditions.

For instance, obesity in American children has increased dramatically since John F. Kennedy’s presidency, from around 4 percent in the 1960s to almost 20 percent in 2024. The causes of childhood obesity are complex, but a primary origin is clearly the modern American diet of highly processed foods.

But our food problem goes well beyond obesity: Pesticides are proven risk factors for neurodevelopmental outcomes in kids, causing maladies like ADHD. If the next president prioritizes the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to identify which exposures are contributing to the spike in chronic disease in children, we will finally find out and end what is slowly destroying our children.

Redfield said he agreed with Kennedy about corporate influences on federal regulators and government agencies, and how these cozy relationships have eroded public trust in public health.

“Kennedy is right,” he wrote. “All three of the principal health agencies suffer from agency capture. A large portion of the FDA’s budget is provided by pharmaceutical companies. NIH is cozy with biomedical and pharmaceutical companies and its scientists are allowed to collect royalties on drugs NIH licenses to pharma. And as the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), I know the agency can be influenced by special interest groups.”

Redfield said he believed Kennedy when he pledged: “‘within two years, we will watch the chronic disease burden lift dramatically’ if he’s given the tools he needs to make a change.”

He added: “I think President Trump will empower him. I support their noble effort to heal our children.”

During a media appearance later Tuesday, Kennedy said he shocked to see Redfield’s endorsement in Newsweek.

“I’ll tell you something interesting that happened today,” he began. “Robert Redfield, who I really go after in my Fauci book with hammer and tongs, wrote an editorial in Newsweek magazine today saying that he was endorsing President Trump because President Trump was going to restore American health, and he said, ‘a lot of people might be surprised to hear me say this, but he has chosen exactly the only person who can do this, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’”

Kennedy said this praise was “breathtaking” to him because he had been criticizing Redfield for years. And the icing on the cake, according to RFK Jr, is that Redfield paid him a visit that afternoon and they had lunch together.

“It was the first time I’ve ever met him, and the first thing he said to me is, ‘you got everything right,’” Kennedy said.

Redfield has become increasingly critical of the U.S. health agencies in recent months, accusing the FDA of pushing a fake “safe and effective” COVID vaccine narrative by underreporting adverse events. The mRNA shots “never should have been mandated,” Redfield told the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in July.

“There was not appropriate transparency from the beginning about the potential side effects of these vaccines, and I do think there were inappropriate decisions by some to try to underreport any side effects because they argued that would make the public less likely to get vaccinated” Redfield testified.

The former CDC director said the biggest mistake of all was the Biden regime’s decision to mandate the mRNA products.

“They never should have been mandated,” he said. “It should have been open to personal choice. They don’t prevent infection, they do have side effects.”

During an appearance before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in March, Redfield testified that gain-of-function research had never produced a treatment or a life-saving vaccine that he’s aware of and “probably caused the greatest pandemic our world has seen.”

Redfield, a virologist, was director of the CDC from 2018 to 2021, and served on former President Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force throughout 2020.
