The son of Ryan Wesley Routh, former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin, was arrested Tuesday morning on federal charges of possessing child pornography.

Federal investigators “seized multiple electronic devices” during a search of 35-year-old Oran Alexander Routh’s home in Guilford County, North Carolina, on Saturday, and discovered hundreds of files with child porn, according to the criminal complaint. The search was conducted “in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation,” the complaint states, referring to the investigation into his father Ryan Routh, who is accused of trying to assassinate Trump last week as he golfed at his club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Investigators said the kiddie porn was found on two Samsung Galaxy Note devices in Routh’s possession.

“A review of the SD card located in Device-1 revealed that it contained hundreds of child pornography files,” prosecutors wrote in the criminal complaint. “These files include videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina.”

The complaint included a chat in a messaging app that is commonly used to distribute child pornography in which Oran Routh allegedly responded to someone advertising the content for sale.

The sick content included videos of adults engaging in various sexual acts with children as young as six years old.

Routh is facing charges of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

His father, Ryan Routh, 58, has been charged with “possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number” following the the incident at Trump International Golf Club on Sept. 15. Prosecutors said Monday they will ask a grand jury to consider a charge that Ryan Routh attempted to assassinate Trump.

When the Daily Mail interviewed Oran Routh after his father was arrested on the 15th, he told the British paper that his father was not a violent person and that he didn’t even think he owned a gun.

The accused pedophile told the Daily Mail that his father hates Trump as “every reasonable person does” and “I don’t like Trump either.”

“He’s my dad and all he’s had is couple traffic tickets, as far as I know,” he said. “That’s crazy. I know my dad and love my dad, but that’s nothing like him.”

However, Ryan Routh has an extensive criminal background, that includes an arrest in Greensboro, N.C. after a three-hour stand-off with police in which he barricaded himself inside a business with a fully automatic machine gun.

Oran Routh will make an initial appearance in North Carolina federal court later Tuesday.
