Republican Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance on Tuesday accused the media of “laundering verified foreign disinformation” to smear the Republican ticket and suppress the speech of American citizens ahead of the 2024 election.

“The American media for three days has been lying and saying that Donald Trump and I are inciting bomb threats, when in reality, the American media has been laundering foreign disinformation,” the Ohio senator declared during a rally in Sparta, Michigan, Tuesday afternoon.  “It is disgusting and every single one of them owes the residents of Springfield an apology.”

In the past week, the town of Springfield, Ohio has been subjected to dozens of bomb threats against schools and medical centers, all of which turned turned out to be hoaxes that originated from overseas countries.

“Thirty-three threats; thirty-three hoaxes,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, 77,  during a press conference in Springfield on Monday. “I want to make that very, very clear. None of these had any validity at all.”

Without naming any specific country, the governor indicated that the threats were being made by foreign actors.

“We have people unfortunately overseas who are taking these actions. Some of them are coming from one particular country,” DeWine said. “We think that this is one more opportunity to mess with the United States,” DeWine continued. “And they’re continuing to do that.”

Springfield, Ohio (population 58,082) has seen an influx up to 20,000 Haitian immigrants since Joe Biden took office, resulting in inevitable cultural clashes within the community.

For days, Democrats and their allies in the corporate media have framed the bomb threats as a direct consequence of allegedly false narratives about the city’s Haitian immigrants, blaming the Trump campaign specifically for amplifying unverified local reports about Haitian immigrants eating pets and waterfowl in the community.

CNN’s Dana Bash grilled Vance about the issue on Sunday, and accused him of “causing” the bomb threats against hospitals, the schools, and government buildings in Springfield “because of the cats and dogs thing.”

Vance responded by calling her accusation “disgusting” and “more appropriate for a Democratic propagandist than it is for an American journalist.”

In his remarks at the rally Tuesday, Vance said the media’s focus on the bomb threats was “sick” and indicated that instead of talking about the multiple crises plaguing the country, biased media hacks would rather “silence the people who are experiencing them.”

Because their message in talking about these bomb threats and lying to the American people and saying they came from me and Donald Trump—what they’re doing is trying to shut all of us up. They’re trying to say, ‘how dare you citizens of Springfield complain about this migrant inflow because now these bomb threats are happening. How dare you complain about the fact that you can’t afford housing. How dare you complain about Kamala’s open border. The media conspired to shut American citizens up. They owe every single American an apology!

For months, Springfield residents have been complaining about a housing shortage spurred by the influx of Haitian immigrants, their allegedly reckless driving habits, and their allegedly peculiar dining habits.

As American Greatness previously reported, one concerned resident called the police in August after he witnessed a group of Haitian migrants absconding with geese from a city park.  His  911 call to the Clark County Sheriff Office was leaked to the media.

Nonetheless, Springfield city manager Bryan Heck insisted that there are “no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.”

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost however argued on social media that the reports are credible.

“There’s a recorded police call from a witness who saw immigrants capturing geese for food in Springfield,” Yost posted on X, adding that Springfield residents have also shared stories about Haitian immigrants stealing pets to the City Council.

“These people would be competent witnesses in court,” he wrote. “Why does the media find a carefully worded City Hall press release better evidence?”

At the rally Tuesday, Vance said that after apologizing to the American people, the corporate media should start focusing on “the the real crisis which is Kamala’s open border and its many, many victims.”

“Focus on the real story, American media. Stop trying to shut up the people who are telling the real story. Do your job!” Vance exclaimed.
