According to recent information, an illegal alien who was accused of killing a woman in Berkeley County, West Virginia, was held in an El Salvadorian prison for more than 20 years before being allowed to enter the US under President Joe Biden’s supervision.

This month, West Virginia issued a warrant for the arrest of David Antonio Calderon, 46, an illegal alien from El Salvador, on charges of woman murder.

Since then, Adam Shaw of Fox News Digital and West Virginia Metro News have published more information on Calderon’s background. El Salvador imprisoned Calderon from January 1999 to August 2021 for offenses including narcotics offenses, homicide, aggravated robbery, drunk driving, and sexual assault.

Following his release from prison in El Salvador in 2021, Calderon attempted to enter Canada across the northern border of the United States in March 2023, only to have his request denied. Canadian police turned Calderon over to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), who then released him with an NTA, or notice to appear, before a federal immigration judge.

On May 6, when firefighters in Berkeley County extinguished a flaming couch, authorities discovered the death of a 33-year-old woman. The lady had left the home confinement program in Jefferson County.

Police said that in April, Calderon attacked two homeless people in Jefferson County at random with baseball bats, gravely wounding them. This incident happened behind a Walmart shop. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest for malicious assault.

A few days after the discovery of the woman’s death, warrants related to the two assaults led to Calderon’s arrest. After his arrest for assault, authorities accused him of killing the woman.

Calderon is battling extradition to Berkeley County on murder allegations, and he is now being held in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Frederick County.
