Donald Trump is planning to bring up the subject of Hunter Biden and his current legal cases during his upcoming debate with incumbent President Joe Biden.  
 

The two candidates are scheduled to appear in their first debate on June 27. The debate will be hosted by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash at CNN headquarters in Atlanta.  

The debate precedes Hunter's federal trial for gun charges by just a few weeks. Insiders close to Trump, speaking to the New York Post, revealed that the GOP nominee’s strategy for the debates will be to pivot questions about his own legal battles by bringing up the president's son as well as Biden’s connection to him.   

“Either Joe or the CNN moderators will try and bring up one of Trump’s legal cases — that’s sort of a given — and Trump will throw it right back at them about Hunter Biden’s ongoing legal troubles and all the evidence that Joe lied during the last debate when he said his son never took money from China,” one of the sources explained.  

“It’s an easy way to draw blood from Joe Biden when Trump legal stuff comes up. It’s a full proof defense and way to make Biden pay,” the source added.  

The report comes at a time when Special Counsel David Weiss has recently highlighted Hunter Biden's laptop as pivotal evidence in his upcoming legal battles.  

In a prosecution filing on Wednesday, Weiss stated, “The defendant’s theory about the laptop is a conspiracy theory with no supporting evidence.” He further explained that the “laptop is real (it will be introduced as a trial exhibit) and it contains significant evidence of the defendant’s guilt.”  

With these developments, Trump appears poised to leverage Hunter Biden's legal issues as a central theme in the upcoming debates, aiming to challenge the Biden family’s credibility and political standing.  

Hunter will also be subject to a trial regarding his tax evasion charges, which will take place on September 5, just days before the second presidential debate.
