A Houston woman was nearly spirited away last week when terrifying storm winds shifted her parked car up against a curb and blew out the rear window while she was inside.

Darlene Brown was picking her brother up from work at the Wells Fargo Plaza in downtown Houston when the massive storm system moved through on May 16, KTRK reported.

The storm caused Brown’s brother to get stuck in the elevator of his building – while she was stranded in her parked car outside, she told the outlet.

“I thought I was actually gonna blow away in the air,” Brown recalled of the harrowing moment the high winds moved her car and blew out the back window.

“It felt like I was going up in the air, really. I felt like it had picked it up and moved it, and I thought it was gonna take it away,”  Brown said.

Local attorney Michael Lombardino was parked behind Brown at the time, and his dash cam picked up the wild moment when her car was shoved into the curb.

The storm eventually passed, but not before seriously damaging the Wells Fargo building and more. Brown was able to pull out of the lot and go home – only to find that a tree had fallen onto her house.

“It couldn’t get any worse. I just say, well, I don’t know what we gonna do now,” she lamented.

Brown was able to cut up and remove the tree, which did not cause major damage to her home, she told KTRK.

Her car, however, is still being repaired.
