From the New York Post:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, two former Democrats, will be joining former President Donald Trump’s transition team to help bolster support in battleground states — with just 70 days to go until the election.

The announcement comes after the Democratic defectors enthusiastically endorsed the Republican nominee. Trump, 78, had already chosen his transition team before the two endorsements but decided to add the duo following the significant show of support.

Kennedy, a member of one of the most famous Democratic dynasties in American history, endorsed the former president Friday after dropping his own presidential campaign.

Gabbard, a former Democratic representative in Hawaii who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, endorsed Trump Monday during a surprise appearance at a National Guard conference in Detroit.

“Donald Trump plans to name his former rival, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard, a onetime Democrat, as honorary co-chairs of his presidential transition team that will help him select policies and personnel,” The New York Times wrote.

“As President Trump’s broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team,” Trump campaign senior advisor Brian Hughes told CNBC.

“We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team as we work to restore America’s greatness,” Hughes added.

Per CNBC:

The transition team would make staffing and policy decisions if Trump beats Harris in the Nov. 5 presidential election. The New York Times first reported that the Republican nominee planned to tap Kennedy and Gabbard for the team.

Kennedy suspended his independent presidential campaign on Friday. Gabbard, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2020 cycle and left the party in 2022, has reportedly been helping Trump prepare for a debate against Harris.
