A manhunt is underway in Arizona for a convicted sex offender who allegedly threatened to kill 2024 GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Police believe the man is on the loose in the area of the southern border Trump spoke at Thursday.
Sheriff Mark Daniels of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said that Ronald Lee Syrvud has several outstanding warrants for his arrest, including for a DUI in Wisconsin and a hit-and-run in Arizona. He is also being sought for failing to register as a sex offender.
Syrvud is described as being 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with white hair and green eyes and wears glasses. He is 66 years old and his last known address was in Benson.
"Public Safety consideration: Syvrud is being sought as an investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate," Daniels wrote. According to the New York Post, the presidential candidate in question is Donald Trump.
Trump visited Sierra Vista, Arizona, which lies in Cochise County, Thursday to "inspect the southern border and to meet with the victims whose loved ones were attacked and murdered by illegal aliens set free into America by Comrade Kamala Harris."
