Vice President Kamala Harris has recently been called out after it appeared that she only attracted a crowd of dozens of people to a recent rally she hosted.  Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump boasts massive crowds, numbering in the tens of thousands at nearly every single campaign stop he makes.

The Harris rally, which was hosted in a gymnasium at Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina, appeared to have an underwhelming turnout. It appeared that the tiny venue was not even close to meeting its maximum capacity. At first glance, it seems that only dozens of her supporters were there to see her speak.  Official reports from Harris’ campaign claim there were about 250 people in attendance.

During the rally, the vice president addressed the rampant inflation under the Biden-Harris administration.  However, commentators have pointed out this is not a “winning message” as Biden and Harris have received immense criticism that their policies have led to persistent inflation that continues to impact Americans.

Conservative commentator Collin Rugg shared footage of the rally on X, writing, “NEW: Kamala Harris shares how much prices have increased under her leadership with President Biden. Not sure how this is a winning message. The comments were made to a very small crowd in Raleigh, North Carolina. “A loaf of bread costs 50% more today than it did before the pandemic. Ground beef is up almost 50%.”

The American Tribune recently reported on Trump outlining his economic agenda, which seeks to undo the damage of the Biden-Harris administration.  “By contrast, I’m announcing today that, under my leadership, the United States will commit to the ambitious goal of slashing energy and electricity prices by half, at least half,” Trump said.

The former president continued, “We intend to slash prices by half within 12 months, at a maximum 18 months. And if it doesn’t work, you say, Oh, well, I voted for him. I still got him down a lot, but we’re looking to do it. We’re looking to cut them in half, and we think we’ll be able to do better. And every single thing that I promised I produced, every single thing.”

Trump emphasized his goal of bringing down energy prices, which has been a major contributor to inflation over the past few years.  “You will never have had energy so low, as you will, under a certain gentleman known as Donald J Trump. Have you heard of him. So we think your energy bills will be down by 50 to 70%. How good would that be for a thing called inflation. How good would that be,” he said.

Harris has also been criticized for vowing to implement “communist” price controls to combat grocery prices.  “Now Kamala is reportedly proposing communist price controls, she wants price controls,” the former president said. “And if they worked, I’d go along with it, too, but they don’t work. They exactly have the exact opposite impact and effect and it leads to food shortages, rationing, hunger, dramatically more inflation.”

“She’s running on the Maduro plan. we call it the Maduro plan, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union. This announcement is an admission that her economic policies have totally failed, and caused really a catastrophe for our country and beyond that, a catastrophe in the world,” he added.
