This is utterly heart-wrenching.

The wife and one of the daughters of Corey Comperatore — the heroic firefighter and family man who was killed during July’s tragic Butler, PA rally — have just spoken out.

During an interview, Corey’s wife, Helen, and daughter, Allyson reflected on their beloved husband and father, calling him a hero.

Allyson gut-wrenchingly recounted how her father threw her down as the shots rang out to protect her.

Helen explained why it was so meaningful that President Trump put Corey’s firefighting gear up on stage during the RNC:

Helen wants her husband, Corey, to be remembered as more than just the man killed during the assassination attempt on Trump.

“He was a simple man but he put his wife and kids first all the time,” she said, “I did nothing here. I didn’t lift a finger. He did everything.”

But, she also wants justice for his death.

Helen Comperatore and her daughters are remembering Corey Comperatore, the volunteer fire chief who was killed when he died protecting his family during the gunfire at Donald Trump’s political rally last month in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“He definitely was a hero. He saved his wife, he saved his child and he was just the best guy,” Helen Comperatore, Corey’s surviving wife, told ABC News’ Pittsburgh affiliate WTAE. “He was just the best.”

Corey’s daughter Allyson recalls the moment shots rang out, a memory which she says is still vivid and painful.

“I was the one that my dad threw down,” said Allyson. “That was when he was shot. He ended up falling onto me. I was, like, confused. And I went, “dad?” And when I turned is whenever he fell down.”

“That’s when I started screaming,” Allyson continued. “I was instantly like, I was trying to keep him from bleeding. And somebody had thrown down a towel. So somebody behind us must have seen what was going on, and I was just, I was holding it there and just screaming for anybody to help.”

The New York Post added:

A daughter of the firefighter killed by former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin said law enforcement officers who were at the rally have his “blood on their hands.”

The family of slain hero Corey Comperatore, 50 — who was gunned down as he shielded his family from a sniper shot on July 13 — demanded answers about why security at the event dropped the ball.

“I just want them to know I think my dad’s blood is on their hands, and I hope they wake up every day thinking about what they took from our family,” Kaylee, 24, fumed in a fiery Thursday interview with Action4News.

“Because we have to wake up every day and see that image of our father in our head, and no child should ever have to see that.”

Comperatore’s heartbroken widow, Helen, said she has hired a lawyer to probe what potentially went wrong between the Secret Service and Butler Township cops — who failed to stop Matthew Crooks from opening fire from a roof at the Pennsylvania rally, the station reported.

“I want justice for my husband, and I’m going to get it,” she said.
