Joe Biden is ramming through as many environmental extremist regulations as possible to force the nation to abandon affordable and reliable fossil fuel-generated energy for green energy.

But he’s gotten out over his skis, forcing this unreliable source of power on the nation.

And Joe Biden was blindsided when Joe Manchin revealed this awful truth about green energy.

Coal-fired power plants being phased out under Biden

President Joe Biden has made it his mission to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions for electricity generation by 2035 in order to supposedly stop the climate from changing, as it has since the literal dawn of time. 

The unelected bureaucrats at the Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) unilaterally issued a rule that would require coal-fired power plants to reduce their emissions by 90% using unproven and costly new “carbon capture” technology or shut down by 2040.

The plan is to make it too expensive and cumbersome to use coal, forcing the power companies to simply retire these plants.

The Biden EPA predictably delayed a rule cracking down on emissions from power plants that use natural gas until after the 2024 election.

Green energy sources, like wind and solar, are supposed to take the place of coal and natural gas as the EPA wages war against fossil fuels.

But these unreliable sources of power are dependent on the whims of nature.

Manchin warns against the Biden EPA’s dangerous plan

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) warned that Biden isn’t replacing the fossil fuel power generation he’s taking offline fast enough during an appearance on CNBC.

CNBC’s Brian Sullivan pointed out that the country’s electrical needs are growing because of new technologies.

“We’re going to need 25-50% more electricity generation to meet our AI and datacenter goals at the minimum in probably 7-10 years,” Sullivan said. “We’re building out solar, we’re building out wind, we’re building out battery storage. That’s great.”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman predicted that demand on the electrical grid would double over the next decade from artificial intelligence (AI) alone.

Virginia’s Dominion Energy data centers being built in Northern Virginia – and their hub on the east coast – would require several nuclear reactors worth of electricity to power them.

“But these new EPA rules that are at least in place or being discussed would require 90% of the nasty emissions from coal to be captured,” Sullivan continued. “I’m sure the coal industry will say, we can’t do that or it would be prohibitively expensive. Are you worried that we’re going to lose power generation at a time that we need more power generation?”

Manchin warned the power grid is currently on the brink.

“Well, not only am I worried about it, the FERC, the Federal Energy Regulatory [Commission] and NERC [North American Electric Reliability Corporation], the people who basically evaluate our grid are telling us we’re in a danger zone right now and we’re throwing more demand into [it] basically and taking off more dispatchable 24/7 power,” Manchin replied.

He pointed out that green energy doesn’t provide power around the clock.

“But you can’t take something off that you’re depending on 24/7 unless you have something better to replace it with,” Manchin said. “That’s all. They’re not there yet.”

“But are we more aggressively taking stuff off than we are putting stuff on?” Sullivan asked.

“That’s exactly what the regulators have told me,” Manchin remarked.
