During an X Spaces with Donald Trump on Monday, Elon Musk offered to serve on a Government Efficiency Committee to rein in wasteful spending at the federal level.

Trump and Musk floated the idea of the government efficiency commission as they were speaking, and Musk then offered, "I'd be happy to help out on such a commission."

Appeared to be pleased by the idea, saying, "Well, you you're the greatest cutter. I mean, I look at what you do." The GOP nominee spoke about how Musk has gone into companies in order to make them more efficient and cut down costs.

Trump and Musk then spoke about how inflation is affecting everyday workers and people who have saved money throughout their lives. Trump then slammed Harris on the economy as well as the topic of energy needs in the United States.

"People want to hear about the economy and the fact that they can't buy groceries because they don't have enough money to buy groceries" Trump said about the Biden-Harris administration. On energy, Trump complimented Musk on his work with Tesla and electric cars, but added that gas cars are also needed by people in the market.

On energy, Musk said, “My views are actually pretty ... moderate in this regard, which is that I don't think we should vilify the oil and gas industry and the people that have worked very hard in those industries to provide the necessary energy to support the economy.”

Musk spoke about how if there is too much carbon in the air, that global warming would not necessarily be the worst result, but that if the parts per million of carbon dioxide reaches 1,000 in the air that many in the population will get headaches from breathing in the air.

The GOP nominee and Musk spoke about bringing back the American dream and to make the “future better than the past." Musk said that if there was more deregulation that much could be accomplished for infrastructure in regard to railroads as well as with other products and services. Musk focused on this point, saying that if regulations are not stripped away, that illegal activity is unavoidable.

Millions of people were in attendance for the space, even though there were technical difficulties at the beginning of the space. Trump ended, asking members of the audience if they are better off now or when Trump was president.
