It seems the country that gave us the Magna Carta, Winston Churchill, and Margaret Thatcher, is determined to become George Orwell’s “Oceania” with limits on what people are allowed to say. Those who engage in wrongthink or wrongspeak online now face arrest and jail.
On Thursday, the official UK government Twitter account issued a tweet reminding the world to “think before you post,” with another tweet from the Crown Prosecuting Service that included a video reinforcing the edict.
“Think before you post! Content that incites violence or hatred isn’t just harmful – it can be illegal. The CPS takes online violence seriously and will prosecute when the legal test is met. Remind those close to you to share responsibly or face the consequences,” the CPS declared.

Twitchy reminds us this came after the government had already arrested at least one person for the Orwellian cause of ‘Facebook crimes.‘

And remember, the UK’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Stephen Parkinson, has made it clear that everyone on Earth can find themselves running afoul of the UK edict.
“Some people are abroad. That doesn’t mean they’re safe,” he declared.
