A former MLB player tragically collapsed and died suddenly on Friday.
Sean Burroughs, a former player for the San Diego Padres and the Minnesota Twins, was found collapsed in a parking lot while attending his son’s little league baseball game. He was just 43 years old.
According to Burrough’s mother, the 43-year-old died of cardiac arrest.
Sources say that Burroughs had a brief bout with drugs and alcohol during a certain point of his baseball career, but overcame his ‘out-of-control lifestyle’ and staged a comeback. Breitbart reports:
However, Burroughs struggled to find consistency in his baseball life due in large part to difficulties in his personal life.
The slugger missed the 2009-2010 seasons as he battled substance abuse and an out-of-control lifestyle.

Burroughs played for a variety of teams and won an Olympic gold medal in 2000, according to Fox News:
Burroughs spent the first four seasons of his big league career with the San Diego Padres.
He was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in late 2005.
After appearing in eight games with the Rays in 2006, Burroughs hit the pause button on his career.
