Figuring out how to hold onto the Democrats’ vulnerable Senate majority is keeping Chuck Schumer up at night.

Sometimes all it takes is one gaffe or blunder to change the course of a campaign.

And Chuck Schumer was groaning when a vulnerable Democrat gave this bad answer.

Democrats worried about “Border Czar” Kamala Harris’ record

The most visible job that Vice President Kamala Harris had under President Joe Biden was her work as his “Border Czar.”

She fumbled around looking for the root causes of illegal immigration in Central America while the worst border crisis in the country’s history unfolded.

Illegal immigration has consistently ranked as one of the top issues for voters this election cycle.

Vulnerable Democrats are trying to distance themselves from Harris’ failed record on the border.

Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is running in a hotly contested race against his Republican challenger, Dave McCormick.

He gave Harris a full-throated endorsement after Biden dropped out of the race.

Now that she’s the presumptive Democrat Presidential nominee, Casey is on the defensive about her failed record.

Vulnerable Democrat refuses to answer a simple question about Harris

Casey appeared on government-funded left-wing propaganda outlet National Public Radio’s (NPR) Morning Edition, where he was asked about Harris’ performance on illegal immigration.

“I’m not going to be a referee or an analyst about rating other candidates. I’m just going to tell you what my record is,” Casey stated.

He could have given a ringing endorsement of Harris’ job performance, but he ducked the question. 

Moments after he said he didn’t play analyst about other candidates, he pivoted to attacking his Republican opponent. 

Casey whined that McCormick has “been blowing a lot of hot air about immigration and the border, and he’s done nothing to make our community safer.”

McCormick isn’t a politician he’s a businessman. 

He’s running to make communities safer because Casey – who’s backed by the same woke extremists who led the “defund the police” movement – won’t do it.

“Voters link her with Biden’s record on the border. If they know one thing about Harris, it’s that, that she had something to do with Biden’s effort at the border. How can she and how can Democrats defend that record in Pennsylvania?” Morning Edition co-host Steve Inskeep asked.

Casey dodged the question about Harris’ record on the border again.

“Well, I’ll tell you what — I’m a candidate, so I’ll tell you what I’m doing,” Casey replied. “I want to make sure the people of our state know that I’ve voted, repeatedly, 25 times, to invest in border security, and that goes back years.”

Casey voted against every major border security proposed by former President Donald Trump during his administration. 

“Do you think that she is a good fit for the voters of Pennsylvania? Inskeep asked.

“I think she is,” Casey replied. “And part of that is her background as a prosecutor. She was both a D.A., as well as an attorney general, and I think she’s ready to be commander-in-chief. And one of the reasons she’s ready is because she has a strong law enforcement background.”

Harris supported defunding the police, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and decriminalizing crossing the border illegally.

Democrats thought that Harris would be able to distance herself from the failures of the Biden regime she serves in.

But her failed record and far-left positions are going to be front and center this election cycle.
