The results are in!

Republican Kari Lake has won Arizona’s Republican Senate Primary with ease.

Kari Lake garnered 340,213 votes or 55.4% of votes.

Coming in second in the primary was Sheriff Mark Lamb, who received 240,877 votes, or 39.2%.

In a distant third was Elizabeth Reye, who received 33,287 votes at 5.4%.

Lake will now face Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in the general election.

Republican Kari Lake easily glided to victory in the Arizona Senate GOP primary, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ, teeing up a marquee showdown between her and Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego.
Lake was largely seen as the presumptive GOP nominee in the Republican contest to replace retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), as her only real contender was Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb. Gallego ran uncontested in the Democratic contest.

Lake ran for Arizona governor in 2022 and narrowly lost to Gov. Katie Hobbs (D).

“Congratulations to Kari Lake on her commanding victory in tonight’s primary,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Steve Daines. “Arizonans must unite to defeat Ruben Gallego, one of the most radical Democrats in the country. Ruben Gallego will work with Kamala Harris to abolish ICE, defund the police, and pass more reckless spending that will drive prices up. Kari Lake will work with President Trump to secure the border, get crime under control, and bring down prices.”

Following her primary victory Tuesday night, Gallego released a statement hitting Lake over reproductive rights.

Arizona Republican Kari Lake won her Senate primary Tuesday to face off against Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in one of this fall’s most important races in the battle for control of the chamber.

The two are competing for the seat of retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, an independent who caucuses with Democrats.

Lake, who had the endorsement of the Senate Republican campaign arm, is projected to defeat Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and neuroscientist Elizabeth Reye. Lamb had just over 40% of the Republican primary vote Tuesday night – a potential warning sign for Lake as she heads into the general election needing to consolidate the GOP base and reach out to independent voters. Gallego faced no opposition for the Democratic nomination Tuesday.

Lake, a former local news anchor who lost the 2022 governor’s race in her first bid for political office, is a strident ally of former President Donald Trump. She is best known nationally for pushing lies about widespread election fraud – backing an audit of the 2020 presidential race and fighting in court to overturn her 2022 loss to Democrat Katie Hobbs.

Gallego, a retired Marine who represents a deep-blue Phoenix-area seat, launched his campaign in early 2023, long before Sinema announced her retirement. Sinema was elected to the seat in 2018 as a Democrat – the first from the party to win a Senate contest in Arizona in 30 years.
