NJ has passed a new law, effective immediately. From this day forward, all parties, get togethers, weddings, dinners and concerts attended by 4 or more people, must include a mandatory ‘surprise’ appearance by Bruce Springsteen.

Basically Bruce has been making weekly ‘surprise’ appearances at all concerts at The Stone Pony, and other local NJ venues for over 35 years now. It is estimated he has appeared at the Stone Pony over 5000 times.

Bruce Springsteen Surprise Appearance

Bruce most recently made his regularly scheduled ‘shocking’, ‘surprise’, ‘unannounced’ appearance at The Paramount in Asbury Park NJ for the Light of Day event.

Fan Maryann Ciacciarelli commented “I was so excited, I couldn’t believe Bruce showed up. My heart actually stopped for 3 minutes. Just because he lives nearby and has made a surprise pop in every year for the last 12 years, doesn’t make it any less shocking.”

Bruce will be at your party whether you like it or not

Some are not so thrilled with the idea. Warren Partrick told Madhouse News “We were having a 90th Birthday party for my Aunt Viv. It was a small event at a local VFW hall. We had to put up with Bruce doing a 90 minute acoustic set. We just wanted to have some cake and go home.”

I’ll Be There

Bruce stated “This will keep me busy in my old age. I can pop in at Bar Mitzvahs, retirement parties, Super Bowl parties and backyard BBQ’s. You name it, I will be there. It is certain that I will never get tired of playing Mustang Sally. I especially like to play with crappy cover bands and open mics.”

NJ Governor Phil Murphy warned that violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. “I don’t want to see anyone in NJ enjoying themselves unless Bruce is there.” First time offenders face a fine of $5000 and 5 years in prison.
