Carlson: What do you think is happening in the English-speaking countries? They seem to have turned against themselves. Where does this come from?
Dugin: It starts with individualism. Yet human nature isn’t like this. People have to cut their relations off with other people. (Historical context, nominalism and Protestantism) This is the centre of Liberal Ideology. It is about liberation of the individual from any kind of collective identity. (more history) Then it became revolt against the nation state, against the family, etc. Liberalism has triumphed over every other train of thought.
There are only 2 collective identities to liberate from: gender (being a man or a woman is a collective identity), which has led to transgenderism and a new form of sexual individualism. Here, gender is optional. In the West, we are choosing the sex we want. We are not yet liberated from the second, which is human identity, where human identity becomes optional. The last step in the process means we are choosing transhumanism or post-humanism. We’re now in the realm of artificial intelligence. So we’re arriving at the terminal station, the last stop on the journey we’ve taken. Thus, we are totally cutting our connections to the past and all other forms of collective identity. And hence we are liberating ourselves from … being human, which is believed to have been prescribed. That is the ideological agenda of tomorrow. This is the Anglo-Saxon world of liberalism.
Classical liberalism and new liberalism are different. The classical version is about individual freedom within democracy and the freedom of others. But now we’re at the new phase: it’s about the RULE OF MINORITIES against the old rule of the majority. It’s about WOKE-ISM, which puts the individual in a position not only to criticize the state but also criticize individuals. So we’re invited to liberate ourselves from individuality! (Tucker laughs) We have to go even further in this direction. This rule of the minority over the majority is purely totalitarianism. It’s no longer about individual freedom but a PRESCRIPTION to be woke. It is a DUTY to be progressive and modern and follow this agenda. We are no longer free to be anything else.
Liberalism fought against prescription of any kind; now, it has become prescriptive and totalitarian.
Hollywood sci-fi movies have told us pretty much where we’re going and what the outcome of all this is, which offers no traditional version of a bright future. The choices available to us are outside of the limits of humanity according to this vision. This isn’t just fantasy or wishful thinking but a kind of political project.
Carlson: How come Liberals loved the Soviet system, defending Russia. So why did they change to hate Russia so much?
Dugin: Putin is a traditional leader. He started to extract Russia from globalism and progressivism. They see that Putin doesn’t share this agenda. Putin wants to restore Christianity, the family, the nation state, etc. It wasn’t evident at the beginning but has become so over time. Putin has publicly defended these things. The hatred against Putin isn’t casual at all; it is metaphysical.
ER: Any discerning person can see that ‘Putin’ has physically changed over time (since the early 1990’s), which tends to suggest that what Putin is promoting now as an agenda was clearly something planned out by a group above and beyond the man himself, whoever he really is.

Tucker Carlson releases interview with Russian philosopher Aleksandr Dugin
They discussed ‘new liberalism’ and its role in the fate of Western civilization

American journalist Tucker Carlson has released a 20-minute interview with high-profile Russian philosopher and political commentator Aleksandr Dugin. The conversation was published on Carlson’s YouTube channel on Monday.
Dugin has been described by Western media as ‘Putin’s brain’ due to his supposed influence on the Russian president and the influence of his work on the country’s elite in general.
A fervent critic of the West and foreign policy hawk, Dugin passionately supports Russia’s military operation against Kiev, and has stated that an independent Ukrainian state “should not exist.”
In 2022, his daughter Darya was killed in a car bombing, which the Russian authorities claim was orchestrated by Ukrainian agents. Several media outlets subsequently cited unnamed US intelligence officials as saying Washington believes that the Ukrainian authorities were indeed involved in the assassination.
Carlson introduced Dugin as “a writer who writes about big ideas,” claiming that his books have been “banned by the Biden administration” in the US. “You cannot buy them on Amazon,” he said.
During the conversation, Dugin argued that liberal ideology, which has essentially become uncontested in the West since the fall of the Soviet Union, is leading to the demise of the concept of the family. “Family is [being] destroyed in favor of this individualism,” he said, adding that the natural progression of liberalism will lead to “abandoned human identity.”
“Next phase: New liberalism. Now it is not about the rule of a majority, but it is about the rule of minorities. It is not about individual freedom, but it is about woke-ism,” Dugin said. “It is not democracy. It is totalitarianism.”
