More good news for President Trump’s mandate to govern just dropped out of Pennsylvania — Dave McCormick has unseated the three-term Democrat Senate Seat held by Bob Casey.  That brings the total of Congressional seat-flips in PA to three; 2 House Seats and a Senate Seat.

The Associated Press actually broke the story on the incredibly tight 48 hour vote count with this simple statement:

AP Race Call: Republican Dave McCormick wins election to U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, beating incumbent Bob Casey

McCormick’s win brought the Pennsylvania Congressional win count even higher, increasing the ability of President Trump to bring about the agenda he campaigned on through legislative action.  And Republicans again have PA’s Scott Presler to thank for much of the ground work during this year’s election season.

According to a report in The New York Post, there could be a recount simply based on the margin by which McCormick won — .5% with 99% of the votes tallied.  That means there is still room for shenanigans, but all signs point to a clear McCormick win, and an increase in the total number of Republican-held Senate seats in Washington DC.

Republican Dave McCormick showed three-term Democratic Sen. Bob Casey the door in the Keystone State’s high-stakes Senate race, bringing a Pennsylvania political dynasty to an end — and securing the 53rd seat in the GOP’s 2025 Senate majority.

McCormick, an Army veteran and former hedge-fund executive, beat Casey by just over 30,000 votes, netting 49% of votes to the Democrat’s 48.5%, with 99% of votes counted, the Associated Press reports.

The minuscule margin could trigger an automatic recount, as Pennsylvania law dictates for any race decided by 0.5 percentage points or less.

The Republican declared victory just after 1 p.m. Thursday, three hours hours before AP finally made the call, with McCormick campaign communications director Elizabeth Gregory tweeting: “Any way you slice it, David McCormick will be the next United States Senator from Pennsylvania.”

While McCormick declared victory, Casey had still refused to concede the race Thursday afternoon.

Yep — you caught that right.  Bob Casey has yet to concede the race as of the time of this writing, leading me to believe a recount is very likely in the cards for this race.  Casey’s campaign spokesperson has responded on X.

Check out this awesome video from the McCormick watch party reacting nearly 48 hours ago to the news that President Trump had secured his second term, beating Kamala Harris in the presidential race.

According to a Fox News article on McCormick’s win, Casey has served three terms from the now-flipped PA Senate seat, voting in favor of President Biden’s agenda with almost every time a bill came up for a vote.

Casey has served in the Senate since 2008 and ultimately became a stalwart within the Democratic Party. For example, he voted on legislation President Biden supported 98.5% of the time, according to FiveThirtyEight data.

The Casey name also has deep roots in the state, with Bob Casey Sr., the senator’s father, serving as the Keystone State’s governor from 1987 to 1995 after years of serving in various other elected roles.

The longtime senator, however, faced what was described as his most difficult re-election effort to date, squaring up against Republican businessman Dave McCormick.

McCormick is an Army combat veteran and former CEO of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates who served as the undersecretary of commerce for industry and security as well as undersecretary of the treasury for international affairs in former President George W. Bush’s administration.

McCormick has stated in a discussion with Hugh Hewitt that he would like to see the Department of Energy moved to Pennsylvania — with those who are regulating energy out among the people they are regulating, as opposed to cloistered in political circles.

President Trump’s mandate was already clear by the time the sun rose Wednesday morning — the Presidency by electoral and popular vote, the Senate, and the House — but every Congressional seat counts.  And in terms of Senate seats, this was a big flip in favor of President Trump and ultimately Making America Great Again!
