In a race that had the nation holding its breath, Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick has triumphed over Democratic incumbent Bob Casey, marking a massive win for Pennsylvania and a serious loss for the Democrats’ grip on the Keystone State. As usual, however, the Democratic machine isn’t ready to admit defeat, with Casey’s camp refusing to concede. According to Casey’s spokesperson, “there are tens of thousands of ballots still to count,” including provisional and overseas ballots. But let’s be real—Democrats have an impressive record of finding extra ballots when they’re falling behind.
Right now, McCormick has the lead with 3,340,649 votes to Casey’s 3,308,961. Yet, despite the math, Casey clings to the faint hope of a miracle pile of votes waiting to turn things around. The longtime senator, a fixture in Democratic politics who’s been in office since 2008, has loyally backed Biden 98.5% of the time, so maybe it’s no surprise Biden was eager to hit the campaign trail for him. Apparently, Casey thought his family legacy and name recognition in Pennsylvania would carry him across the finish line. It seems, however, that Pennsylvanians weren’t so interested in sticking with the old guard this time around.
McCormick is no ordinary candidate. An Army combat veteran and former CEO of Bridgewater Associates, he has both the patriotism and business savvy that Pennsylvanians have been craving. Unlike career politicians who’ve spent years cozying up to the establishment, McCormick’s background as a former undersecretary in the Bush administration and his impressive business credentials make him a true public servant. And the support from Trump? That was just the icing on the cake, with Trump saying, “He’s a smart guy…He’s given up a lot to do this.”
The contrast between McCormick and Casey couldn’t be more stark. While Casey railed against “greedflation” (as if companies somehow force Biden’s inflation), McCormick focused on real issues—curbing crime, defending the Second Amendment, tackling border security, and unleashing Pennsylvania’s energy resources. Casey, meanwhile, aligned himself with the “defund the police” rhetoric and was more interested in virtue signaling on abortion and the environment. The contrast here speaks volumes: McCormick wants to build, while Casey wants to blame.
This win goes beyond Pennsylvania. It’s a wake-up call for a Democratic Party that’s lost touch with working Americans. From inflation and rising crime to a border that’s a sieve, voters rejected Casey’s status quo. As McCormick takes office, expect him to prioritize common sense over hollow promises. And for all the talk of “greedflation,” here’s hoping Casey and the Democrats learn that voters are more interested in results than slogans.
This win isn’t just about one seat. It’s a signal that America wants change, and it’s a big step toward a government that actually works for the people. With McCormick in the Senate, Pennsylvania and the nation have a strong voice ready to push back against the Democrats’ failed policies.
