As the 2024 election’s voting hours drew to a close last night, airwaves were flooded with ads for the 2028 presidential election, frustrated television watchers confirmed.
“Oh great, here we go again,” said local citizen Ed Baker. “I remember when we used to get some relief in between election cycles, but now it’s just four full years of this crap on my TV. It feels like a bit much, personally. I mean, don’t most people make up their minds about the election fairly quickly, without the assistance of the same commercial played every 10 minutes?”
As the election in question is still several years away, there are still many candidates in the race.
“Hey folks, remember me?” began an ad seen on most major television networks this afternoon. “I’m Jeb Bush. I’m going to take another whack at this thing in a couple of years, and I just wanted to know if I could count on your support. Please vote.”
As of press time, a majority of citizens were just hoping to watch a damn football game without thinking about an election for a week or two.
