Trump has been declared the winner of Georgia by Decision Desk HQ, taking in 51.2 percent of the vote to Kamala Harris’ 48 percent as of around 10:30 pm. The race was called by Decision Desk with around 88 percent of the vote in.
Georgia is one of the seven closely-watched battleground states in the 2024 election, alongside North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan. North Carolina was called for Trump as well. North Carolina has also been called for Trump by Decision Desk, with five states remaining in play. These states may decide the outcome of the election.
In 2020, Trump lost Georgia to Joe Biden by less than a percent, with just over 11,000 votes separating the two candidates.
Decision Desk's projections currently place Trump as having 242 electoral college votes to Kamala Harris' 108. To win, a candidate must reach 270 electoral college votes.
