Following his lengthy podcast interview with comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” former president and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump got huge news: the podcast host, one of the largest and most important in the world, endorsed him.

Rogan’s endorsement of the former president, something he did via X (formerly Twitter) when posting about his recent interview with Tesla founder, SpaceX founder, and X owner Elon Musk, whom he described as having made the “most compelling” argument for Trump.

Posting about the matter, Rogan said, “The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him we’d be fucked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”

The endorsement is huge news for Trump for multiple reasons. For one, Rogan has a huge audience who devotedly listen to his podcast, meaning that millions of people might think about Trump in a new light after Rogan’s endorsement. Additionally, many Rogan fans are somewhere to the center, and less politically engaged, meaning Trump could win votes from a new demographic and win over votes from people who normally sit elections out.

Making the endorsement all the more awesome was that former President Trump was giving a rally speech when Rogan posted it on X. So, Trump found out about it in real-time and on stage and then, in his usual heartwarming sort of way, commented on it to the massive crowd of fans.

Doing so, he began by saying, “Oh, wow, I have some more big news, Megan, I’m just getting this right now. So somebody that’s very, very respected asked me to do his show two weeks ago, and I said, ‘Why not?’ And to me, it’s very big, because he’s the biggest there is, I guess, in that world by far, somebody said the biggest beyond anybody in a long time, and his name is Joe Rogan, and he’s never done this before.”

He continued, “And it just came over the wires that Joe Rogan just endorsed me, is that…” Then, as the crowd roared with applause, he said, “Thank you. That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do that, and he tends to be a little bit more liberal than some of the people in this room.”

He added, “Now, I had a lot of fun, and he was amazing, and he was; it was the three-hour interview. In fact, I was two hours late for a rally that we had I had explained that a little bit, and it was cold out that night. We flew and I, but we had to make it. We were two more than two hours late, and they understood.”

Concluding, Trump said, “I said, ‘you know, I just was interviewed by a very interesting guy, and he just kept going.’ They called it a long form, and it could have gone a lot longer, but he was great. And he’s not a person that does endorsements, but he did an endorsement. So I just want to thank Joe Rogan. That’s fantastic.”
