Former President Trump is suing CBS News over a “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Republican presidential nominee is claiming the interview footage was edited to make his Democratic foe look better, The Hill reported.

Trump is seeking $10 billion in damages. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas, claims CBS engaged in “partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion.”

“To paper over Kamala’s ‘word salad’ weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news,” per the lawsuit.

A spokesperson for the network said Thursday that Trump’s “repeated claims against 60 Minutes are false.” 

“The Interview was not doctored; and 60 Minutes did not hide any part of the Vice President’s answer to the question at issue. 60 Minutes fairly presented the Interview to inform the viewing audience, and not to mislead it,” the spokesperson stated. “The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it.”

Trump, as well as his supporters, has criticized CBS since the Harris interview aired.

One segment in contention is answer Harris gave regarding the war in Gaza.

Harris’ full answer was not part of the aired interview, but was posted online.

In the interest of clarity, accuracy and time, outlets may, as standard practice, edit questions and answers in interviews.

Trump backed out of a similar interview with “60 Minutes” after he was told he would be fact-checked.

Last month, Trump hinted to a possible lawsuit by saying CBS “should lose their license and take ’60 Minutes’ off the air.”
