Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance has recently made headlines for exposing CNN over its coverage of hoaxes surrounding former President Donald Trump, such as the Russia collusion hoax that was propagated for years into Trump’s presidency.  The interview devolved into a heated exchange between Tapper and Vance, in which emotions were high.

At one point during the discussion, Vance drew into question the left-leaning network’s journalistic integrity given its reporting on the hoaxes. “Ask yourself a basic question about network integrity. You guys talked about the Russia hoax. Non stop.” Tapper shot back, raising his voice, “The FBI was investigating it. The FBI was investigating it. We so we loop, so we covered that.”

Vance then said, ”And so you took the words of unnamed FBI agents and put them on your network as if they were the Gospel truth. You did it again and again. A viewer of your network would have believed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin conspired in 2016, that was totally and preposterously false.”  The Ohio Senator then explained how former President Trump is focused on key issues that are impacting everyday Americans.

Numerous conservative commentators reacted to the incident, praising Vance for his handling of the interview, while calling out the mainstream media.  “Jake Tapper is practically screaming … at JD Vance for this entire interview. Are objective journalists supposed to be this emotionally engaged in defeating President Trump,” Greg Pride wrote on X, sharing a clip of the interview.

Conservative commentator Collin Rugg similarly wrote, “JD Vance shuts down a very emotional Jake Tapper over CNN’s constant coverage of hoaxes. Tapper, who was very emotional throughout the interview, sat as Vance roasted CNN for their biased coverage. Vance: Ask yourself a basic question about network integrity. You guys talked about the Russia hoax nonstop.”

Rugg continued, “You took the words of unnamed FBI agents and put them on your network as if they were the gospel truth. A viewer of your network would’ve believed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin conspired in 2016. Tapper: No! That’s totally false!”

Other users praised the Trump-Vance campaign for its focus on real issues that Americans care about. “Trump/Vance want to focus on policies that will positively affect the most amount of Americans, whereas Kamala/CNN want to focus on discredited gossip and quotes taken out of context. This should tell voters all they need to know. America first!” another person said.

“Here we go again, folks. CNN’s darling, Jake Tapper, gets schooled by @JDVance on his own network’s credibility. They pushed the Russia hoax like it was gospel, yet now they’re shocked when their own bias is called out. The same network that turned a blind eye to real issues, focusing instead on fabrications to smear Trump and anyone associated with him,” another person wrote.

Another user expressed their frustration which has spread biased media for years.  “Now, Tapper gets emotional, but where was that emotion when they were spreading lies? This isn’t just biased media; it’s MEDIA MALPRACTICE. They’ve turned journalism into a weapon against the American people, against our values, and against the very truth,” they wrote.
