Day 13 of a 21-day prayer guide
Tensions are high, and all eyes are on the November elections. What will the results mean for our nation? It is a critical time in history for both America and our world.
While leaders determine a nation’s course, God is sovereign and can be trusted. Let’s humbly seek His Presence and His intervention on behalf of America. In a posture of unity, let’s agree that He is the only one who can turn the tide in our nation.
Our battle is not against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places, and the battle belongs to the Lord. He has permitted us to come boldly to His throne for mercy and grace in our time of need; this is a time of great need. Intercessors must lift our voices with one heart and mind and stand in the gap for America.
Day 13: Pray for Our Military
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (John 15:13 NIV)
Having a solid, united military is vital for our nation. In addition to protecting our country, they provide humanitarian relief and strengthen diplomacy.
Though they are well-equipped and trained, they are also stressed. These brave men and women sacrifice their lives on the line; many leave behind families. They live knowing that at any moment, they can be deployed to serve and could lose their lives in war.
- Pray for God’s protection over our military and their families (Psalm 91).
- Pray for the chaplains who provide spiritual counsel and open doors to the gospel (see Matthew 9:38).
- Pray for the leadership of each branch to resist progressive agendas and stand firm in maintaining strength in our fighting forces (Isaiah 40:29).
