Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently addressed her critics during a recent speech at a church on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. Willis slammed the “idiots” who are criticizing her for prosecuting former President Donald Trump in the election interference case.
According to the Fulton County DA, her detractors have resorted to mocking her name, comparing it to a “woman’s rear.” However, Willis maintained that she is “paying no mind” to those who rail against her, likening their conduct to that of “little school boys.”
“While they’re over there running they mouth, I’m over here paying them no mind. See I’m so tired of hearing these idiots call my name as ‘Fanny’ in a way to attempt to humiliate me. Because like silly school boys, the name reminds them of a woman’s rear,” she said in a compilation of video clips.
Throughout her speech, she maintained that she is not concerned with the incessant criticism against her prosecution of Trump, which many claim is part of a larger weaponization of the justice system. Instead, Willis asserted that she is working “15-hour days” to fulfill her “God-given purpose.”
“What I’m here to tell you is to not concern yourself with insults of me. I promise you, I don’t concern myself with them,” she informed the congregation at the Georgia church. “I am too busy working 15-hour days trying to use every talent God gave me to fulfill my God-given purpose.” She further said she seeks to “to hold all — all, there are no exceptions — who dare to come into our community and break the law accountable.”
Since the August indictment of former President Trump and 18 other codefendants who are accused of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, Republicans have looked into Fani Willis to determine if she abused federal funding in her prosecution. For example, Rep. Jim Jordan interviewed a whistleblower claiming Willis allocated federal funding toward the case against Trump.
“We have politicians that spend no time doing their elected purpose. In fact, we got a clown in Washington D.C. who’s been elected for the purpose to make his community safer and pass laws. But he’s been sitting there for 17 years and passed zero laws,” she said, slamming Jordan. Watch the clip of Willis speaking to the church below:
Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has consistently bashed the election interference case brought against him in Georgia. Earlier this year, he told Fox News that the case amounted to nothing more than a “scam” and that all charges should be dropped.
“There is no case here,” Trump told Fox News Digital. “It is so badly tainted. There is no case here. There was a perfect phone call. It was perfect. But by going after Trump, she’s able to get her boyfriend more money than they ever dreamed possible.”
At the time Willis was dealing with accusations that she had an improper relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, who was staffed on the case. “The case will have to be dropped,” Trump added. “There’s no way they can have a case. The whole thing was a scam to get money for the boyfriend.”
