Not Lovin' It: McDonald's Offered Kamala a Chance to Work at Restaurant Like Trump—She Never Responded

Kamala Harris was offered an opportunity to finally work at a McDonald's restaurant but never responded to the invite, a statement circulating on social media indicates.

A franchisee on X posted what they describe as "an internal statement to the McDonald’s system from the US Senior Leadership Team" regarding Donald Trump's visit to a McDonald’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

They describe the memo as "100% real."

By now, most of our readers know that Trump swapped out his suit jacket over the weekend with an apron and proceeded to work the fryers and the drive-thru section at the fast food restaurant.

It was classic Trump. It was weapons-grade trolling on his part, as he's long contended that claims from Harris that she used to work at McDonald's are completely false. Better than that though is the fact that 'Donald McRonald' once again made himself look like the more relatable, likable, human being of a candidate up against his robotic, out-of-touch opponent.

The statement, if accurate, is a solid effort that does not play to either side. Instead, it focuses on the successful event held by Trump and celebrates the attention brought to one of their franchisees.

"Earlier today, former President Trump visited a McDonald's restaurant in Pennsylvania following a request made to our local franchisee," it reads. "As we've seen, our brand has been a fixture of conversation this election cycle. While we've not sought this, it's a testament to how much McDonald's resonates with so many Americans."

"McDonald's does not endorse candidates for elected office and that remains true in this race for the next President. We are not red or blue - we are golden."

Thus far, legacy media has failed to turn up evidence that Harris did work there. Though it's not for lack of effort, as evidenced by this New York Times fact-check:

The statement sent out by the McDonald's franchisee system takes no stance on the matter, instead referencing "former President Trump's love for McDonald's and Vice President Harris's fond memories working under the Arches."

Without addressing the veracity of Trump's claims that the 'fond memories' are only in her head, what should be noted is that this statement says they actually offered Harris and Tim Walz an opportunity to 'work' at McDonald's just as their opponent had.

"Upon learning of the former President's request, we approached it through the lens of one of our core values: we open our doors to everyone," the company writes.

"It's with that same approach that franchisees have invited Vice President Harris and Governor Walz to their restaurants, in order to share how McDonald's provides meaningful pathways to economic opportunity and feeds and fosters local communities."

Speaking to a source familiar with the internal statement, they confirmed that the Harris campaign failed to respond to the invite.

The source says they spoke to "a franchisee in national leadership" who indicated "they did extend the invitation (to Harris and Walz), but they had not gotten a response back" from the campaign.

So, for those keeping score at home, here's the rundown:

  • Kamala says she worked at McDonald's.
  • Trump says, 'Yeah, no you didn't.'
  • Trump mocks her by working at McDonald's.
  • Kamala is offered a chance to actually work at McDonald's and ... doesn't.

How hard would it have been to accept the invite and, based on your alleged experience having worked there, run circles around Trump? Wonder why she wouldn't jump at the chance.  If she held a similar event, legacy media outlets left and right would have fawned over it. It would have disarmed Trump's line of attack. She could have even argued he was lying, not her.

But she didn't.

You have to admit, Trump's move here was genius-level trolling. And this is coming from somebody who initially thought the argument was a little petty and unnecessary.

It's a microcosm of the election, really. Trump saw a chance to prove he's more a man of the people and seized on it. Pounced even, as the media might say.

Harris was actually handed a chance to pounce herself and prove she's not a cold and detached person who makes Hillary Clinton look lively by comparison, and she dropped the ball.

If you can't make good choices when it comes to working at McDonald's, how can you be trusted to run the country? Self-awareness: -500 points.

Kamala just 'ba da ba ba ba'd' herself right out of the race.
