A viral video shared on Facebook claims to show a new Harris-Walz campaign advertisement aimed at men.

Verdict: Misleading

The claim is misleading, as the advertisement was created for the group Creatives for Harris. There is no evidence suggesting the advertisement is an official Harris-Walz campaign advertisement.

Fact Check:

A poll from FiveThirtyEight shows 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris is ahead of 2024 Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump in Michigan by 0.6 points, according to Newsweek. The same poll places Harris at 47.7% and Trump at 47.1%, the outlet reported.

The Facebook video, viewed over 11,000 times as of writing, purports to show a new Harris-Walz campaign advertisement aimed at men. In the advertisement, multiple men explain why they are “man enough” to support the Harris-Walz presidential ticket.

Besides Facebook, the claim circulated on X, the social media platform previously called Twitter.

The claim is misleading. The original advertisement, shared on YouTube by Jacob Reed, includes a disclaimer that it is “not authorized by any candidate or any candidate’s committee.” Likewise, in an Oct. 10 post shared on Substack, Reed indicated he “creative directed and directed [the ad] campaign for Creatives for Harris.” Nowhere in the post does Reed state the advertisement is an official campaign advertisement.

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports suggesting the campaign advertisement is an official advertisement linked to the Harris-Walz campaign. Actually, the opposite is true. On Oct. 18, Logically Facts debunked the claim, labeling it as “misleading.”

Furthermore, Harris has not confirmed that the advertisement is an official campaign advertisement via her website or her verified social media accounts. Similarly, 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has not commented on the advertisement. (RELATED: JD Vance Claims Kamala Harris Plagiarized Sections Of Her Book)
