God’s Word frames our intercession for the U.S. and our understanding of what is best for this nation.

1. Religious Freedom — America’s first freedom. God has given us freedom from slavery to sin (Galatians 5:1) and free will bought by Jesus’s blood (John 8:36). We choose whom we will serve (Deuteronomy 30:11-20; Joshua 24:15; Matthew 6:24). Governmental authority is limited (Matthew 22:15-22) — we must obey God rather than human authority (Acts 5:29).
2. Protection of Life — All human beings are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Life begins at conception, and we’re knit together by God in utero, being fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:13-14). Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalms 127:3). We must defend and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8).
3. Marriage and Sexuality — God created two genders, male and female, and biblical marriage is a covenantal relationship of a man, a woman, and God (Matthew 19:4-6). This is God’s design for sexuality. Anything else is not an identity, but rather sin to be confessed and forgiven (1 Corinthians 6:11; Romans 1:20-32).
4. Free Speech — Our Constitution forbids the government from abridging our freedom of speech. In Christ we were set free (Galatians 5:1), and we use our freedom to preach the Gospel (1 Timothy 2:3-4). We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), with our words being full of grace and “seasoned with salt” (Colossians 4:6). We are warned that we will give account for every idle word (Matthew 12:36).
5. Education — Parents are responsible to teach their children God’s Word and His ways (Deuteronomy 6:5-9). We are called to study to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15), and to reject false teachings (1 Timothy 1; 1 John 4:6). All education should rest on the firm foundation of God’s Word (Matthew 7:24-27).
6. National Security — God created all nations, determined their rise and fall, and set their boundaries so that all nations would seek Him (Acts 17:26-27). Rulers are God’s servants and agents of His wrath against evildoers (Romans 13:4). Our hope is not in armies or soldiers, but in God alone, though He uses these things for our defense (Psalms 33:16-17; 72:1-4).
7. Israel — “I will bless those who bless [Israel], and I will curse him who curses [Israel]; and in [Israel] all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:3). God plans for Israel to be a blessing to the whole earth, a light to the nations (Isaiah 42:6). He requires us to pray for His promises to Israel and to stand against antisemitism and attacks (Psalms 122:6-9; Isaiah 62:6-7). God will judge nations that curse Israel (Joel 3:1-3).
8. Immigration — All tongues, tribes, and nations are part of God’s kingdom (Revelation 7:9). While God cares about foreigners/immigrants and calls us to care for them as equals (Deuteronomy 10:18; Leviticus 19:34; Jeremiah 7:5-7), He also cares about the rule of law (Deuteronomy 14-16; Leviticus 25).
9. Economy — We are exhorted to work diligently (Proverbs 10:4-5; Ephesians 4:28; 2 Thessalonians 3:11) and to give God tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:9-10), as well as to give to others (Proverbs 11:25; 2 Corinthians 9). God commands both individuals and nations to be good stewards of all resources.
10. Environment — Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28). This biblical commission to Adam and Eve is still in effect as we steward His creation (Psalm 8). Through us, God is reconciling the earth to Himself (Colossians 1:20) and liberating it from bondage to decay (Romans 8:21).

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2 NLT).
