Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) appeared on MSNBC Saturday morning to argue that it is Trump supporters and white supremacists, rather than criminal illegal immigrants tied to gangs, who are overrunning cities like Springfield, Ohio.

During her appearance, Crockett responded to former President Donald Trump’s rhetoric surrounding illegal immigration and border security during his appearance in Aurora, Colorado.

"He said that we've got these cities and these towns that are being overrun by gangs and the crime — I absolutely agree," Crockett stated. "Guess what? It’s the MAGA gang.... It is the white supremacists that have decided to descend upon places such as Springfield, Ohio.”

Crockett emphasized her belief that the root of the problems in these communities lies with Trump and his supporters. “The problems are him and his minions,” she said. “I agree that there are problems in our communities, but usually, it’s some white supremacists on the other side, and he has yet to call them out.”

Crockett’s comments aimed at attacking the GOP nominee and his supporters largely ignore the series of high-profile incidents involving gangs and illegal immigrants committing violent crimes in the US. One notable example is the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, which Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently designated as a terrorist organization. This gang has been implicated in drug and human trafficking along the southern border and was responsible for taking over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

Additionally, a shocking report from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently revealed that over 420,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions remain in the country, with some of them believed to be in prisons. This group includes over 13,000 convicted of murder, more than 2,500 for kidnapping, over 15,800 for sexual assault, and more than 56,000 for drug-related offenses.
