A post made on Facebook claims that Elon Musk pulled a $1 billion show from CBS following alleged bias at the 2024 vice presidential debate.
The claim appears to have originated from a satirical story posted online by SpacexMania. The story, titled “Elon Musk Cancels $1 Billion Deal With CBS, “CBS Is Done For.’ The story contains a disclaimer that reads, “NOTE: This is Satire, It’s not true.”
The satire claims to cite a post made by Musk on X that reads, “when you interrupt someone 23 times in an hour, that’s not accountability—that’s bias.” Musk’s X account does not contain this post.
A separate, viral post made on Facebook with the same claim has labeled itself as satire. The post contains a disclaimer that reads, “This is a ‘FICTIONAL QUOTE.” The post has been “rated satire” and a watermark on the included image states, “Nothing on this page is real if you believe anything we post then you’re potato crop.”
