In the wealthy, blue areas of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested six illegal immigrants in one month, at least one of whom is an MS-13 gang member.

"I think many people are concerned about the violent illegal population... The biggest thing is obviously not knowing anybody's history if they're here illegally. The legal immigrants will even discuss that," Toby Brown, chairman of the Nantucket GOP, told Fox News.

Brown acknowledged that while most immigrants in the wealthy neighborhood are not committing perpetual crimes, those that are illegal immigrants and have been engaged in crimes have been committing particularly egregious ones. Residents are worried about the illegal immigrants who came to the US to escape arrest, prison, or their criminal records back in their country of origin.

"It's such a small island that I find that things have gotten a little worse here on Nantucket," he said. He added that he has noticed an increase in squalor and crime that was once virtually unknown and remains virtually unnoticed by more affluent residents.

"Once again, they're in big estates. And unfortunately, on Nantucket, the mainstream press, for the most part, would like people to think this place is still kind of just like Disneyland and we have zero issues on the island."

On Aug. 23, ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston arrested 24-year-old Brazilian illegal immigrant Warley Neto on Martha's Vineyard. Neto had been in the country since sneaking in through the Paso Del Norte border between Texas and Mexico in 2018. He is facing five charges of raping a minor.

On Sept. 10, ERO arrested 28-year-old Salvadoran illegal immigrant Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, who is charged with one count of raping a child and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

Also on Sept. 10, ERO nabbed illegal and Salvadoran national Elmer Sola, who is charged with 11 counts of sex crimes against a child; specifically, three counts of aggravated rape of a child and eight counts of indecent assault and battery on a child.

On Sept. 11, ERO picked up Felix Alberto Perez-Gomez, a 41-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala and charged him with committing indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older. Gean Do Amaral was another illegal immigrant arrested and on Sept. 11. Amaral is from Brazil and was charged with indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older.

On Sept. 12, ERO arrested Angel Gabriel Deras-Mejia, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador and a confirmed member of MS-13.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made a point of reminding supporters and detractors alike of the record number of illegal immigrants who have wandered across the border during the Biden-Harris years.
