Former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declined to comment when pushed on his “sexting” affair with New York magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi Wednesday.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked Kennedy, 70, if he had any “regrets” over the steamy message exchange between himself and the 31-year-old star political reporter.
“I don’t make comments on it,” the Democratic scion said bluntly in his first public remarks since Nuzzi was placed on leave last week after the magazine learned of their relationship.
“I never comment on those kind of stories. If you want to talk about health or how to end the war in Ukraine or how to end inflation or censorship, [the] surveillance regime, I’m happy to talk,” he added.
Kennedy has been considering filing a lawsuit against Nuzzi since the news of their digital tryst broke, with a mutual friend claiming she allegedly “bombarded” him with nude pictures over the course of everal months.
The pair allegedly began speaking sometime after Nuzzi met Kennedy for a feature piece published in New York magazine in November.
Kennedy, the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, is married to “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines.
Nuzzi and her fiancé, political reporter Ryan Lizza, have since called off their wedding.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
