DHS Whistleblower: Five Assassination Teams Are Currently Pursuing Trump

There are five known “assassination teams” currently pursuing former President Donald Trump in the United States, according to a whistleblower in the Department of Homeland Security.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said in an interview Thursday that the whistleblower, a senior Homeland Security Department official, approached him shortly before the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life in West Palm Beach Florida.

Gaetz told Just the News Editor in Chief John Solomon during an interview on the Human Events Daily television show that U.S. officials are well aware that these assassination teams are targeting the former president, yet decreased his protective detail nonetheless.

“I had a senior official from the Department of Homeland Security in my office before the second assassination attempt, saying that what he has assessed is that there are five known assassination teams in the United States, three inspired by other governments, two that are here, that are known domestic assassination teams,” Gaetz said.

On July 13, 2024, Trump narrowly avoided being assassinated during a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, turning his head at just the right time so the bullets only grazed his ear. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by law enforcement after hitting Trump and three rallygoers, one fatally.

The 78-year-old was rushed off the stage by the Secret Service, but not before he pumped his fist in the air for the stunned crowd and yelled “fight! fight! fight!”

Trump survived a second assassination attempt Sunday, this time at his International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.  A Secret Service agent spotted a rifle barrel with a scope sticking out of the fence and “engaged” with the person,  identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, a Biden-Harris supporter and Democrat donor with an extensive criminal background. Routh fled and was later apprehended and charged with firearms violations in connection with the incident.

Gaetz said the whistleblower told him he was concerned that Trump’s protective detail was not what it should be given the dire threat level against him.

“… this individual was coming to me, concerned that the force protection around President Trump, even prior to that second assassination attempt, was not sufficient for what it needed to be, and the coordination at that level, at the dignitary protection level is like the bare minimum that we have to do to keep our presidents, our presidential candidates, safe while they’re on the trail,” the Florida congressman said.

“Five teams that we know are targeting Trump,” he added. “And so that raises real questions about why certain teams were being pulled off of the Trump deal detail and put on, for example, the Jill Biden detail.”

“Now we don’t want anything bad to happen to Jill Biden, but at the same time, the threat envelope for her was substantially different than the threat envelope around President Trump, and it would not have necessitated pulling assets away from the Trump detail for the Joe Biden detail or the John Bolton detail or any other details that were beefed up at the same time, the requests from the Trump detail and from the Trump campaign for more security, were going unanswered, frankly,” he concluded.

July was a busy month for the Secret Service with Trump’s rally competing with events involving Joe Biden and Jill Biden, as well as the Republican National Convention.  Ahead of the Butler rally, the U.S. Secret Service’s Office of Protective Operations-Manpower (OPO-Manpower) allegedly denied Trump’s requests for additional security.

According to Senator Josh Hawley’s report on the failures of the Secret Service in connection with the July 13 assassination attempt, officials from within OPO-Manpower office “preemptively informed the Pittsburgh field office that the Butler rally was not going to receive additional security resources because Trump is a former president, and not the incumbent President or Vice President.”

When asked during the July 30 Senate hearing whether former President Trump’s team had been denied resources, Acting Director Rowe stated: “If you’re talking about Butler, Pennsylvania, all
assets requested were approved.” But according to the whistleblower, CSD personnel, counter sniper teams, and other critical security assets were not included in the manpower request for the Butler trip because Secret Service officials told the requesting agents that they would be denied.

On July 12, one day before the first assassination attempt against Trump, Asif Merchant, a Pakistani man, was arrested and charged with working with Iran to hire a gunman to kill Trump

U.S. authorities have not publicly disclosed any other plots involving the Republican nominee for president, nor have they apparently briefed Congress on the assassination teams.

Several Senate and House members who have been briefed on the two assassination attempts against Trump told Just the News on Thursday afternoon they have not been told during their briefings about five teams or plots but they are aware there are multiple Iran-inspired plots targeting multiple U.S. officials.

One senior federal law enforcement officials and one intelligence official, both speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed to Just the News that U.S. authorities have been aware of multiple plots tied to Iran or other terrorists seeking to assassinate current or former U.S. officials.

The heightened security threats against Trump come amid a dramatic increase of suspected terrorists entering the U.S. at the southern border—and the Biden-Harris regime’s attempt keep that from the public.

Aaron Heitke, former chief of the San Diego Sector Border Patrol testified at a House hearing Wednesday that the Biden-Harris regime forbade him from releasing information about the number of terrorist suspects who were encountered and arrested at the southern border because “the administration was trying to convince the public there was no threat at the border.”

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), chairman of the subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, said thanks to the Biden-Harris regime, the country now faces a “threat to the homeland from within the homeland.”

“By ending effective Trump era policies and programs that protected us, the Biden-Harris administration has intentionally left us vulnerable to potential attacks from terrorists and criminals who are freely moving around our communities,” he said.
