Biden was questioned outside the White House on Friday as to whether he was worried about being criminally prosecuted as Trump has after he leaves the White House, replying that he isn’t worried about the idea "at all."
"Are you worried that this could happen to you someday — somebody comes up with some charges and tries to bring you in to court after your term," Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked.
"Not at all. I didn't do anything wrong," Biden replied.
Doocy continued to press Biden, asking for him to comment on Trump's comments that Biden "is pulling the strings behind the scenes, doing all this to help [him]self."
"I didn’t know I was that powerful," Biden replied.
Biden said of the conviction against Trump that it was "reckless, it's dangerous, it's irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don't like the verdict." He made the remarks during a Friday afternoon speech in response to the guilty verdict in DA Alvin Bragg’s falsified business records case against Trump.
Biden said "Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years. And it literally is the cornerstone of America. Our justice system, the justice system should be respected. And we should never allow anyone to tear it down. It's as simple as that. That's America. That's who we are. And that's who we'll always be God willing."
Biden was asked at the end of his speech as he started to walk away from the podium, "Donald Trump refers to himself as a political prisoner and blames you directly, what’s your response to that sir?"
He stopped, turned around, and grinned, providing no other response to the question.
Trump on Thursday evening was found guilty on 24 counts of falsified business records. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention where he will officially be named the party's nominee for president.
