The Libertarian's hero, Ron Paul, has been flirting with the Trump campaign for a little while, but now it seems he's thrown his full endorsement behind Donald Trump, and particularly, J.D. Vance. More than that, Paul's message notes he's taking great pleasure in watching the corporate media tearing its hair out over its inability to take Trump down. 

Paul, 89, expressed interest in joining Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) with the aim to cut government waste. Musk has expressed his interest in joining Trump's second administration in order to reduce government as much as possible, not only making it more efficient but far less costly, and upon mentioning Paul, the former 

This resulted in the former Texas representative and presidential candidate positing to X that he'd be "happy to talk" with Elon about it. This resulted in a massive positive response from many people.

The memes began flying, generating more hype around the pair up of Musk and Paul. On Tuesday, Paul posted a video to X addressing the hype. 

Paul began the video by noting that "ideas are back in this campaign" thanks to two figures, Musk and Vance. He said this presidential campaign is a "turning point in history for reasons good and bad," and made it clear that both campaigns were less than ideal in terms of expressing visions and plans. 

"It was a campaign of name-calling and bullets," said Paul. "Where one candidate avoided discussing ideas at all costs, and even avoided the media at all costs, where the other candidate dodged two attempted assassination while throwing red meat rhetoric to an understandably angry population." 

Paul then blasted the corporate media, saying they wholly committed themselves to Kamala Harris, even citing the Media Research Center's study that showed the media had dedicated more positive reporting than any candidate before in order to prop up Harris.

Paul even noted the moment during the debate between Trump and Harris when the moderators' fact checked Trump while sparing Harris, and the fact-check itself ended up being misinformation. Not that Paul was at all surprised by this, as he said this is an old tactic from the media. Lie, then by the time the truth gets around, the falsehoods have already been absorbed. 

It was then that Paul heaped praise on Vance for outwardly recognizing that the Federal Reserve, which Paul is incredibly prejudiced against, was "not the benevolent force its supporters claim." 

Paul then got into the banter between him and Musk on X, and the memes created that got widespread views in the millions. Musk openly wants Paul to join him, which Paul seems to be happy enough to advise Musk about, but perhaps at arm's length. 

"While the last thing I am looking is another job, I am encouraged by the outpouring of support and happy to help any effort to correct the wrong path we have been going down, a path toward total bankruptcy," said Paul. 

But Paul saved the best for last, noting the "encouraging" and "well-earned" downfall of the corporate media and its influence. Paul said he and Elon's meme got 50 million views, and when you compare that to the steady decline of the media, it's hard not to be encouraged. 

"An alternative way of reporting and analyzing the events of our time is emerging on the ruin of the legacy media and it's driving them insane," said Paul. 

"Good!" he added.

No doubt, having Paul on board will likely assuage doubts of many a libertarian, only bolstering Trump's support on this very important day.
