Kamala Harris Reveals Platform: Abortions Up to Birth Without Limits

During the early hours of Monday morning, the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz posted a full policy platform to its website.

The release of Harris’ platform, titled “A New Way Forward,” came one day before Harris is set to square off with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in a Tuesday night debate.

The online platform was unveiled 50 days after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris and 34 days after she selected Walz, the governor of Minnesota, to be her running mate.

The new “issues” page of the Harris-Walz campaign website states that the ticket is “fighting for a New Way Forward that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures every person has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead.”

Harris “promises to be a president for all Americans, a president who unites us around our highest aspirations, and a president who always fights for the American people,” the page adds. “From the courthouse to the White House, that has been her life’s work.”

On the page, the campaign divides its list of “A New Way Forward” policies into four subheadings: “Build and Opportunity Economy and Lower Costs for Families,” “Safeguard Our Fundamental Freedoms,” “Ensure Safety and Justice for All,” and “Keep America Safe, Secure, and Prosperous.”

The first section of policies is devoted to the economy, which polling shows voters consistently consider to be the most important issue in determining their presidential choice this November.

The website purports that if elected, “Harris will create an Opportunity Economy where everyone has a chance to compete and a chance to succeed—whether they live in a rural area, small town, or big city.”

The campaign goes on to list multiple policies, which Harris had first announced last month. These policies include providing “first-time homebuyers with up to $25,000 to help with their down payments,” as well as “the first-ever federal ban on corporate price gouging on food and groceries.”

In mid-August, a chorus of critics – including some voices on the left – panned the latter proposal in particular, comparing it to the “price controls” historically pursued by socialist and communist regimes.

Harris’ economic platform also claims that, if she is elected, “she will take on Big Pharma.”

In the second section of its platform, the Harris-Walz camp vows that it will safeguard “fundamental freedoms,” including “the freedom to make your own decisions about your own body without government interference; the freedom to love who you love openly and with pride; and … the freedom to vote.”

The platform clarifies that Harris would sign a hypothetical bill passed by Congress “to restore reproductive freedom nationwide.”

“Reproductive freedom” is a euphemism for abortion widely used by the modern Democratic Party.

“A New Way Forward” continues by highlighting the fact that Harris had “officiated some of the nation’s first same-sex marriages” and “refused to defend” Proposition 8 as attorney general of California.

Proposition 8 was a 2008 ballot initiative approved by 52% of California’s voters that affirmed the traditional definition of marriage in the state

In the subsequent platform section, the Democratic campaign states: “Everyone should have the freedom to live in safe communities.”

“Vice President Harris and Governor Walz believe in tough, smart solutions to secure the border, keep communities safe, and reform our broken immigration system,” the Harris-Walz camp claims.

It further declares that “Harris is committed to ending the opioid epidemic and tackling the scourge of fentanyl.”

At the end of the section, largely otherwise devoted to the border and crime, the campaign appears to repeat popular Democratic Party talking points about the widely criticized criminal charges levied against her opponent, Trump, as well as baseless claims that conservative Supreme Court justices violated ethics rules.

“Vice President Harris believes that no one is above the law,” it notes:

She’ll fight to ensure that no former president has immunity for crimes committed while in the White House. She will also support common-sense Supreme Court reforms—like requiring Justices to comply with ethics rules that other federal judges are bound by and imposing term limits—to address the crisis of confidence facing the Supreme Court.

In the platform’s final section, mostly focused on foreign policy and the military, Team Harris-Walz claims that if their candidate is elected, she

will ensure that the United States military remains the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world, that we unleash the power of American innovation and win the competition for the 21st century, and that we strengthen, not abdicate, our global leadership.

“And Vice President Harris will fulfill our sacred obligation to care for our troops and their families, and will always honor their service and their sacrifice,” the platform adds.

For the past few years, the Biden-Harris administration has faced widespread condemnation for its botched 2021 withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan – which resulted in the death of 13 U.S. Military service members in a terrorist attack.

On Monday morning, The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra noted that “Harris branded her agenda as a ‘New Way Forward’ despite her already being at the helm for nearly four years in the Biden-Harris administration.”

“Nowhere in her platform did she explain how her approach would differ from what she is currently doing,” Saavedra pointed out. “The platform repeatedly linked Trump to a think tank’s ‘Project 2025’ agenda, even though Trump has no links to the project and has thoroughly disavowed it.”

Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance, R-OH, scrutinized the Harris-Walz platform via a series of posts to X (formerly Twitter) Monday.

In one post, Vance singled out the Harris campaign’s promise to “invest in affordable child care.” He called the Democratic proposal a “one-size-fits-all model.”

“Most parents who use a paid childcare center say they prefer a faith-based provider,” Vance wrote:

What would Harris’s plan do for them? Nothing. Childcare providers based in a house of worship would have been excluded from funding opportunities. Other faith-based providers would be subject to additional regulations in order to access funding that might not have been able to meet.

Many parents prefer to stay at home with a young child or have a loved-one watch them. Would Harris’s plan support these families? Not at all. Her proposal was only supports childcare centers and would offer no support to families that prefer not to send their children to daycare.

Vance, who converted to the Catholic faith in 2019, has long advocated for the government to invest in accessible childcare – often bucking many more economically libertarian members of his own party.

In a subsequent post, Vance wrote: “Kamala Harris says she wants to secure our borders. Her record tells a different story.”

He continued:

the most destructive part of the Kamala Harris border plan is where she says that she wants to give her 8.5+ million illegal aliens an “earned pathway to citizenship,” which means rewarding illegal aliens with amnesty and the right to vote in our next election. Promising amnesty and citizenship will create a gigantic magnet for illegal immigration that will entice people around the world to race across our borders.

Trump campaign advisor and political commentator Steve Cortes wrote on X Monday morning: “Wow. Kamala Harris finally has a campaign policy platform.”

“Kamala’s solution to ‘fix our broken immigration system’ is to give amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens who broke our laws and invaded our country,” added Cortes, a Catholic.

Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted on X that Harris’ campaign posted the platform “In the wee hours of the night” and “1 day before the debate.”

“Why doesn’t Kamala go back to the White House and implement these policies right now?!?!” she asked.
