AOC claims gas prices will rise under Trump

Working-class Americans have been feeling pain at the pumps after President Joe Biden declared war on American energy production during his first day in the White House in 2021.

The Biden regime took over 100 actions targeting American oil and gas producers.

That’s why it was no surprise when gas prices hit record highs during the summer of 2022.

Now, gas prices are rising once again as summer driving season gets underway.

And that has Democrats on edge, with voters ranking the skyrocketing cost of living under Biden as one of the biggest problems currently facing the country.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Democrat Socialist-NY) appeared on Spectrum News NY1 before former President Donald Trump held a rally in her adopted “home” of the Bronx – in reality, her family moved from the Bronx to Westchester County, one of the richest in the nation, when she was five-years-old.

“I suspect there’s going to be a lot of out-of-towners there,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And listen, we have a big, diverse city, I’m sure someone will be showing up supportive.”

She then proceeded to claim – without any evidence, mind you – that if Trump won the election, gas prices would rise, even though U.S. Energy Information Administration data indicates that gas prices actually dropped from $2.35 per gallon to $2.33 per gallon under Trump’s watch from January 2017 through January 2020, and only increased in his final year in office as a result of COVID.

“But even on the economic point, we just saw that the former president met with oil executives last week saying, ‘Hey, you give me $1 billion, and I’ll make sure that you get the policies that are favorable to raising gas prices and making sure that a lot of these companies continue to price gouge without proper oversight or regulation,’” Ocasio-Cortez claimed.

Trump held a fundraiser with oil executives in Texas in which he promised to unleash American production during a potential second term.

“So, the idea that he’d be bringing those down when he’s cashing in from the same folks that are bringing those prices up, I think is a little bit suspect,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “And again, I think the Bronx sees through it.”

Ocasio-Cortez is the architect of the Green New Deal that will eliminate the use of fossil fuels and drive the price of energy through the roof.

Ocasio-Cortez is throwing something against the wall and hoping it sticks by laughably claiming that Trump will raise gas prices.

AAA recently announced that gas prices have surged by more than 50% since the day Biden took office on January 20, 2021.

Biden made ramming through as many Green New Deal policies as possible a top political priority for his regime.

And now, Democrats are paying the price.

A recent Fox News poll found that 84% of voters believe high gas prices are a problem.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can claim Donald Trump will drive up the price of gas.

But voters can remember how much lower gas prices and costs were when the former President was in the White House.

And no amount of Democrats’ excuses and outright propaganda will change that reality.
