Speaking in the run-up to former President Donald Trump’s debate with Vice President and 2024 Democratic president, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott let loose with some chuckle-worthy advice, saying that the real key to defeating Harris in the debate to “let Harris talk,” as doing so will show how unfit for the presidency she really is.

Such is what Gov. Abbot told Fox News Digital during the annual leadership meeting in Las Vegas for the Republican Jewish Coalition, saying that Harris really struggles to make it through a speech, or even series of comments, without a teleprompter, and so having her on the debate stage and letting her just ramble will be great for Trump.

He told Fox News Digital, commenting on what America will learn from watching Kamala on the debate stage attempting to go up against the former president, known for being quick on his feet in such verbal sparring contests. “The more she talks without talking into a teleprompter, the more she shows America that she’s really not up to the task,” Gov. Abbott noted.

Continuing. Gov. Abbott told Fox News Digital that all Trump has to do is focus on the key issues that the Biden-Harris Administration has made Americans worry about, namely the disaster at the US-Mexico border, the disastrously bad inflation situation that has harmed the finances of most Americans, and the huge crime wave in the cities.

He said, “If he [Trump] lets her talk and if he focuses on three issues — one is the border, another is the inflation caused by Harris and [President] Biden, and the other is the rapid crime that we see in some cities, caused by people like Harris and [her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim] Walz — Americans are going to understand the last thing they want to do is to have Kamala Harris running our country, because it would be run into the ground.”

Further, Gov. Abbot argued that Trump highlighting those issues, particularly as regards the border situation and what the Biden-Harris Administration has done to make it worse, would be good for Americans because only then would they understand what has happened and at whose hands. He said, “Americans need to learn the reality, both of how the policy changed under Biden and Harris and what Kamala Harris would do to pretty much put America on a pathway of destruction.”

Additionally, Gov. Abbot noted that a Trump term would be productive because he knows more this time around. He said, “During his first term, we worked well, especially on border security-based issues. But it’s going to be better this time in part because he will come to office knowing far more than he did when he entered office last time, knowing which levers to pull, what can be done, and the strategies and how to quickly take care of it.”

Gov. Abbot also noted that he has been in contact with Trump about how to correct the border disaster, saying that Trump is ready to be “aggressive” at the border. “I’ve talked to him in recent times about what his plans are. He’s going to be far more aggressive this time than he was last time because he has to find a way to course correct from all the damage caused to the United States by Harris and Biden,” Abbott argued.
