Footage from earlier this year has resurfaced on social media showing First Lady Jill Biden scolding the audience during a press conference at the White House for not catching onto a joke she made during her remarks. “Come on, wake up!” she snapped at the audience after they didn’t laugh at her attempt to introduce comedy to the press conference.

Jill began, “As many of you know, I’ve been teaching writing for forty years, as Tom referenced, so one day, a student named Harry, who wanted to be an auto mechanic, raised his hand. “Dr. B,” he said, “The only thing I need to learn how to write is ‘needs breaks.'” There was a substantial delay before the audience realized it was a joke and missed their cue to laugh.  “You finally got it. Come on, wake up. So he was joking of course,” the first lady continued.

The American Tribune has reportedly extensively on recent criticism surrounding First Lady Jill Biden amid the tension between Biden and the Democratic Party.  Before Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, there was speculation that Jill Bide played a substantial role in keeping the president in the race. Earlier this summer, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman sounded off on the First Lady over this accusation.

“I no longer blame @POTUS Biden for not stepping aside. He no longer has the mental acuity to make important judgments about himself. It is becoming increasingly clear however that the fault lies with
@FLOTUS Jill Biden. FL Jill Biden becomes irrelevant the moment her husband is no longer president. No more Air Force One. No more glamorous life. No more White House dinners for dignitaries. No more being treated like a queen when traveling the world,” Ackman wrote.

The billionaire continued, “I am sorry to be harsh, but what has become entirely clear is that the First Lady values what is best for herself over her husband’s health and the safety and security of the country at large.” Ackman added, “Her power has clearly grown as he gets weaker. And she likes the feeling of power. She speaks for the president when he can’t or when he is napping. She tells his team and staff when he is available, and when he is not. She likes being in control. We all do.”

The Tribune further reported on calls for the first lady to be held accountable for “elder abuse” over her alleged role of trying to keep President Biden in the race amid the push for him to drop out.  “The majority of the American public agree with that. Jill Biden doesn’t because, I guess, she doesn’t want to be a loving wife and go take care of her husband in Delaware, which is what she should be doing,” Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated.

“And I think the media, it’s time for them to finally step up after they’ve been complicit in this cover-up by the Democrat Party over the last four years and ask really tough questions of Jill Biden and of the Biden family about what they know about our president’s state. Clearly, Jill Biden obviously knows her husband better than anyone else in this country, in this world, and she too continues to lie to the American people. It really is shameful. She’s been engaging in elder abuse, and she should be held accountable for that,” she continued.
