OnlyFans, the creator platform predominantly used by those selling adult content, reported a record level of profits for 2023, with the number of creators rising by 29 percent to surpass 4 million.

According to a UK regulatory filing on Thursday by OnlyFans' parent company, Fenix International, gross payments on the platform saw a 19 percent increase for the year ending November 30, 2023. This marked a jump from $5.55 billion in 2022 to $6.63 billion in 2023.

The total payouts for creators on the platform reached $5.32 billion for the last fiscal year, with the average earnings per creator amounting to $1,300—a 19 percent increase from the previous year, according to Variety. Additionally, the company’s net revenue increased by 20 percent, totaling $1.31 billion. The number of users registered on the platform rose by 28 percent and reached a total of 305 million. Approximately 66 percent of this revenue was generated from the US market.

OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky, who also founded the cam site MyFreeCams, received $472 million in dividends in the last fiscal year—a 40 percent increase from $338 million in 2022.

In the company’s filing, OnlyFans states that its mission is to “empower content creators to own their full potential by building the safest social media platform and providing unparalleled opportunities to our user community.”

“The media content on OnlyFans.com can only be shared or accessed by registered users who are over 18 years old and who have successfully completed the Creator or Fan onboarding process,” the company clarified. 

In response to the record revenue, the chief executive of OnlyFans, Keily Blair, said that the company has “cemented our place as a leading digital entertainment company and a UK tech success story. We have done this by continuing to provide opportunities for our diverse creator community to monetize their content and grow their global fan base. This is evidenced by the increase in creator numbers, fan numbers and revenue.”
