Artificial intelligence has claimed that if Donald Trump is elected this year he would be more likely to “start a nuclear war” than if there was an alien in the White House.

Republican nominee Donald Trump is set to square off in the polls against President Joe Biden this coming November. With the Russia/Ukraine war, the critical situation in Palestine and a long list of other ongoing international conflicts, it would be fair to say the world is in a bit of a fragile state at the moment.

And as the whisper of World War Three gets ever more ear-splitting, there’s a certain amount of people who are getting a tad concerned about everything that might entail, nuclear-war-speaking.

There's lots of quality news coming out of the US.

According to some US pollsters, with Trump now leading in certain states there is quite a real possibility that the bloke who was so inflammatory he got kicked off X (then Twitter), might have his “perfectly sized” finger hovering over a nuclear missile button in the coming months.

In an attempt to offer an alternative view for US voters, the Daily Star asked AI whether peace may be easier to come by if America had aliens governing them instead. What followed was a surprising claim from ChatGPT that a theoretical extra-terrestrial ruler would actually be less likely to blow everyone up than Donald Trump.

“Aliens’ advanced ethical frameworks would likely emphasise the preservation of life and the prevention of large-scale destruction," said the AI. "[Whereas] Trump's decision-making style and political strategy sometimes involves aggressive posturing, which could increase the perceived risk of conflict escalation.”

It added: “Aliens are likely to have a long-term perspective that values sustainability and the continuity of their civilisation. The far-reaching and devastating consequences of nuclear war would be a strong deterrent against its initiation.

“But Donald Trump, as a human leader with a finite term and immediate political pressures, long-term strategic thinking could sometimes be overshadowed by short-term considerations and immediate threats.”

It should be stressed the AI said most “human leaders” would be more likely to start a nuclear war rather than exclusively criticising Trump, but still went on to slam the Republican for his “aggressive rhetoric, which carried risks of miscalculation”.

“Possessing superior technology, aliens might have non-destructive means of neutralising threats,” the AI said. “Which makes the use of nuclear weapons unnecessary and counterproductive.”

It concluded: “Aliens would likely be less prone to initiating a nuclear war than a human leader like Donald Trump, based on the assumption they’d be more developed than him.”

There’s an argument to say they would be.
