WASHINGTON, D.C. – In her first-ever interview since being selected as the Democratic presidential nominee for the 2024 election, Kamala Harris outlined her vision for America’s future, declaring that it’s time for the country to embrace a “new way forward” and to “turn the page” in the national bestseller titled Everything is Trump’s Fault.

Appearing on a special edition of Dana Bash on CNN, Harris spoke with enthusiasm about the direction she plans to take the nation, emphasizing the importance of innovation and fresh ideas while acknowledging the need to continue the narrative that has served her party so well over the past few years.

“Americans are ready for change,” Harris said with a confident smile. “They want to move forward, and that means we must turn the page on the past and start a new chapter. But rest assured, that new chapter will still have plenty of room to remind everyone that everything is, in fact, Trump’s fault.”

The interview was filled with the kind of optimism that has become Harris’s trademark. She stressed the importance of unity and healing, although she made it clear that unity would require one small concession from the other side: a complete and total acceptance of her platform and worldview.

“We need to be unburdened by what has been,” she said, before quickly adding, “unless, of course, what has been is to remind people of all the ways Trump messed everything up. That’s a history lesson we need to be burdened by.”

When asked about her specific plans for the economy, healthcare, and foreign policy, Harris pivoted smoothly, reminding viewers that the true focus of her campaign is not so much about detailed policy proposals as it is about restoring the nation’s soul—or, as she put it, “returning to a time when we didn’t have to constantly talk about Trump, except when we need to blame him for everything.”

Harris also unveiled her new campaign slogan: “A New Way Forward with People Who Have Run Everything the 12 of the Last 16 Years But Everything is Trump’s Fault.” The slogan, she believes, encapsulates the spirit of her campaign—a mix of forward-thinking progress with a healthy dose of backward-looking blame.

The nominee wrapped up the interview by reiterating her commitment to a better future, one where Americans can once again have confidence in their leaders, provided those leaders are not affiliated with Trump or any of his allies.

As the 2024 race heats up, Harris is expected to double down on her strategy of looking to the future while ensuring that the past—particularly the parts involving Trump—remains a central talking point.

“Turning the page doesn’t mean we forget the previous chapters,” she said, her voice filled with hope. “It just means we keep adding footnotes to remind everyone who’s really responsible for the mess we’re in. And spoiler alert: It’s still Trump.”
