The View Praises ‘Joyful’ DNC, Kamala ‘Running a Flawless Campaign'

On Tuesday, ABC’s The View was finally back from their summer vacation and where finally able to share their toxic opinions. While they may have been in a new studio and on a swanky new set, they were the same liberal propagandists they’re always been. Together they praised how “perfectly rolled” the Democratic National Convention was; talking about how it made them emotional, “joyful,” “hopeful,” and commend Vice President Kamala Harris for supposedly running a “flawless campaign.”

After spending several minutes understandably showing off the new emerald and gold set, they jumped right into their Hot Topics segment with their reaction to the convention.

“I was at the DNC. I went to Chicago. It's the first political convention I've ever gone to. Cause it's the first one I’ve wanted to go to. And it was a party!” lauded staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin (the descendant of slave owners).

Hostin compared Harris’s convention speech to Trump’s inauguration speech, parroting all the buzzwords the liberal media had been echoing (Click “expand”):

When Trump was president, we heard his inaugural speech, which was death and despair and how horrible our lives were and only he could fix it. The message I heard from Tim -- I'm calling him Tim now, but from the Governor and the Vice President was, ‘alone we survive but together we thrive.’

(…)

So, that was the difference. The difference…So, it’s joyful! It was joyful! I mean, and people always seem to think that Republicans have, you know the corner on patriotism and the flag. I was waving my flag, people were waving their flags. It was unbelievably patriotic. It was about America's hope and dreams. I feel hopeful again.

Faux-conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin proclaimed “there is no doubt that the momentum is on Kamala Harris's side right now” and came close to endorsing the Democratic nominee (she said she’s just waiting to see how things go).

She lamented how “we live in such an era of polarization” because Harris was supposedly “running a flawless campaign.” “She could ride out on a pegasus with bald eagles and a sword and she not going to pull ten points ahead because people tend to vote against the other party and with the jersey that they wear,” she bemoaned.

Farah Griffin followed up with a questionable compliment for Harris, talking about how when she closed her eyes during the VP’s speech, she though: “This could be Mitt Romney speaking!” She also falsely suggested Harris was a centrist:

So, this is not how she ran in 2020 when she ran on some things that were more to the left. She realizes the majority of this country is closer to the center. Donald Trump's too far right and extreme for them and if she keeps winning this -- running this way for the next 60-plus days, I think she can pull it off.

Pretend independent Sara Haines had arguably the most bizarre take on the Democratic convention as she seemed to suggest that having speeches and days themed around a topic were novel or at least hadn’t happened for some time. “Well, I loved the speeches. I felt like it was a coming back to what we grew up watching,” she gushed. “Each day had themes. They honored different things.”

“It was so perfectly rolled out that I don't know how anyone watched any part it and wasn’t like, ‘you got me, this is so exciting!’” she declared.

Haines also opened up about being brought to “tears” by listening to speeches/stories about “how they love and how they are loved. And to see this normalcy of family that's actually presented in a very modern way.”

During the Republican National Convention, moderator Whoopi Goldberg lashed out at former President Trump’s grandkids, one of whom delivered a touching address about the love between them. “And I know his grandchild was up on the thing and they're trying to humanize him and change your idea about who this guy is. Don't fall for that!” she sneered.

Back on Tuesday, Joy Behar bloviated about how Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) “was the kind of guy” you would feel comfortable enough to approach for help if you were lost. “This is the way I can express it: If you were lost, you would ask him for directions. Because he seems safe and he seems sane. J.D. Vance; you ask him for directions, he’d probably would put you in traffic,” she proclaimed.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I was at the DNC. I went to Chicago. It's the first political convention I've ever gone to. Cause it's the first one I’ve wanted to go to. And it was a party! Okay?

JOY BEHAR: No Obama? What about Obama?

HOSTIN: I didn't --

BEHAR: I went to that one.

HOSTIN: No, I didn't go. And when Lil Jon came down the staircase, I was like, ‘this is a different kind of convention!’ Okay? And what I also felt like, Whoopi, was, you know, when Trump was president, we heard his inaugural speech, which was death and despair and how horrible our lives were and only he could fix it.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Uh-huh.

HOSTIN: The message I heard from Tim -- I'm calling him Tim now, but from the Governor and the Vice President was, ‘alone we survive but together we thrive.’ And the -- she said something else, she said the measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you -- not who you beat down, instead what we know is the true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up.

SARA HAINES: Yes.

HOSTIN: So, that was the difference. The difference.

BEHAR: Right.

HOSTIN: So, it’s joyful! It was joyful! I mean, and people always seem to think that Republicans have, you know the corner on patriotism and the flag. I was waving my flag, people were waving their flags. It was unbelievably patriotic. It was about America's hope and dreams. I feel hopeful again.

GOLDBERG: Right.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: So, there is no doubt that the momentum is on Kamala Harris's side right now, but talking to a lot of pollsters and I just – I know how we feel about the polls. They say this, we live in such an era of polarization. She's running a flawless campaign. She could ride out on a pegasus with bald eagles and a sword and she not going to pull ten points ahead because people tend to vote against the other party and with the jersey that they wear. That said, she's running really smart.

I was at the convention for CNN. I closed my eyes at one point and I was like: ‘This could be Mitt Romney speaking!’ When she talked about supporting Israel’s right to defend itself, standing with Ukraine and allies. She did say she does not support --

BEHAR: Sounds like Biden.

FARAH GRIFFIN: She does not support banning fracking. There's other ways to address climate change but also care about the energy sector and the jobs that they create. And she’s talking about on-shoring American jobs and rebuilding the American class.

So, this is not how she ran in 2020 when she ran on some things that were more to the left. She realizes the majority of this country is closer to the center. Donald Trump's too far right and extreme for them and if she keeps winning this -- running this way for the next 60-plus days, I think she can pull it off.

HAINES: Well, I loved the speeches. I felt like it was a coming back to what we grew up watching. All the speeches of politicians used to be kind of motivating you to stand up and be a part of a movement. And I felt first gentleman Doug's speech and Tim Walz --

HOSTIN: About family, blended families.

HAINES: The biggest thing that hit for me is I don't care what your policies are before I know who you are. So, show me your integrity, show me your character, and then I'm willing to listen and have a conversation.

And to me, what I saw in both of those speeches – that actually brought me to tears – was, how they love and how they are loved. And to see this normalcy of family that's actually presented in a very modern way. Blended family, blended faith.

HOSTIN: Yes!

HAINES: A divorce and yet a thank – you know a thank you to his ex-wife. A beautiful way of showing how you can handle life and how it's going to be dealt to all of us, but it was so warm. So, at that point I thought, you didn't -- now we can talk about policy and they did that too.

HOSTIN: Yes, they did.

HAINES: Which I loved. It was not about attacking. It wasn’t about going after someone on the other side because there was nothing to talk about.

BEHAR: No name-calling.

HAINES: No. Each day had themes. They honored different things. It was so perfectly rolled out that I don't know how anyone watched any part it and wasn’t like, ‘you got me, this is so exciting!’

[Crosstalk]

FARAH GRIFFIN: You go ahead.

BEHAR: I went to an event with Tim Walz out in Long Island this summer. And he was the kind of guy – I can't – this is the way I can express it: If you were lost, you would ask him for directions.

HOSTIN: Really?

BEHAR: Because he seems safe and he seems sane. J.D. Vance; you ask him for directions, he’d probably would put you in traffic.

HOSTIN: Yes.

[Laughter]

BEHAR: So, I found the -- I'm an instinctive person, so my instinct is the guy -- I remember when Obama came on the show the first time, he and Michelle. And I thought, ‘These people are normal. They're sane!’ The other side is just nuts. They're nuts.
