First it was pretending she’s not the border czar. Then it was downplaying her running mate’s stolen valor controversy. Now, regime-approved media want you to believe that Vice President Kamala Harris wants to finish wall construction along the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Tuesday, Democrats’ favorite propaganda outlet Axios published an article in which authors Alex Thompson and Hans Nichols claimed that Harris “pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border” if elected this November. The two “reporters” asserted it’s “the latest example of Harris flip-flopping on her past liberal positions” since becoming Democrats’ 2024 presidential nominee.
But there’s just one small problem with Thompson and Nichols’ claims: Harris never said she would build the border ball if elected.
What the authors cite as “evidence” for their claim is Harris’ speech at last week’s Democratic National Convention, in which she committed to signing a disastrous border bill proposed earlier this year that would have enshrined the ongoing Biden-Harris border invasion into federal law.
The authors also reference comments from bill sponsor Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., who claimed the boondoggle “requires the Trump border wall” and “sets the standards that were set during the Trump administration.” The senator’s office estimated the legislation would direct $650 million toward the wall, a fraction of the $60 billion allocated for Ukraine and the $18 billion Trump requested for the wall in 2018.
Harris’ advisers reportedly disputed the charge the bill included new funding for the wall. According to the outlet, they claimed the measure “just extended the timeline to spend funds that had been appropriated during Trump’s last year as president.” The authors noted, “the legislation has new restrictions to ensure the money is spent on barriers.”
Contrary to Thompson and Nichols’ dishonest portrayal, Harris has not stated her position on the border wall since replacing Biden at the top of the 2024 ticket. In fact, the California Democrat has only ever discussed the subject to voice her opposition to it.
Shortly after becoming a senator in 2017, she claimed a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is a “stupid use of money” and pledged to “block any funding for it.” In 2019, she referred to Trump’s wall proposal as a “medieval vanity project” and predicted it wouldn’t stop “transnational gangs” from crossing the border. In a Facebook post published the following year, she reiterated her belief that the wall “is a complete waste of taxpayer money and won’t make us any safer.”
In addition to never professing support for the border wall, Harris has not disavowed her prior support for open border policies. In recent years, she’s openly supported abolishing ICE and detention centers housing illegal immigrants, advocated providing mass amnesty to illegal aliens, and has compared ICE to the Ku Klux Klan.

Since becoming vice president, America’s “border czar,” has allowed millions of illegal aliens to cross the U.S-Mexico border. An estimated 10 million foreign nationals have unlawfully entered the United States since Biden took office in January 2021, according to the Washington Examiner.
Like many legacy media outlets, Axios is misleading its readers. Harris hasn’t “flip-flopped” on the border wall, just like she hasn’t changed her views on supporting the abolishment of private health insurance, a ban on fracking, or a government-mandated gun-buyback program.
She’s just as much in favor of those policies today as when she first expressed support for them. There’s no amount of statements from anonymous campaign aides or dishonest legacy media reports that will change that.
