A new poll has found that a majority of men support Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election, while a majority of women support Kamala Harris. This is a shift from polling done before the Democratic National Convention, where Harris held a slight lead among both demographics.

The ABC News/Ipsos poll, released on Sunday, found that 51 percent of American men support, while 46 percent of men said they would vote for Harris. Among women, 54 percent said they support Harris, while 41 percent said they would vote for Trump.

Pre-Democratic National Convention, Harris held a six-point lead over Trump among women (51-45 percent) and a three-point lead among men over Trump (49-46 percent).

Among the demographics leading this change are white men and women. Among white women, Trump saw a 13-point lead over Harris pre-convention. Post-DNC, however, Trump is now holding a 2-point lead over Harris. And among white men, Trump went from holding a 13-point lead over Harris to a 21-point lead post-DNC.

Harris has not seen a bump in polling post-DNC. In the most recent poll, Harris received 50 percent support to Trump’s 46 percent. In a poll released on August 13, just days before the DNC, Harris received 50 percent while Trump received 45 percent.

The poll was conducted between August 23 and 27 of 2,496 American adults and has a margin of error of 2 percent.

Trump was trusted more than Harris to handle topics such as the economy (46-38 percent), the border crisis (45-36 percent) inflation (44-36 percent) and the Israel-Hamas war (40-33 percent, while Harris was trusted more than Trump to handle topics like healthcare (45-35 percent), abortion (47-31 percent), gun violence 42-36 percent). on the topic of crime and safety, Trump and Harris were tied at 41 percent, with more people responding that they "strongly" trust Trump more on the topic than Harris (30-25 percent).
